We had a terrific time at Va La on a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed the setting and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. We loved the Nebbiolo in particular. The space and decor are really well done and it was fun to have the piano player entertaining while we were there. Bonus that we know for next time is that you can bring your own food. The Prima Donna is also very good. We will be back.
Visited here while in the area visiting family and was very impressed! We opted for the tasting and Jane was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and the history. She really made it an experience. The wine is delicious and done it extremely small batches, the quality is unmatched. The venue itself is quaint and intimate. You would never know it is smack in the middle of Avondale. Had a lovely time, bought two bottles to take home, and will definitely be back.
Fun experience! The wines were good, paired perfectly with different snacks, and the service was great.
Irresponsible staff
The hosts were soo soo warm towards us. The white wine and 3 reds for the samples and the pairings oh my god , it was sooo out of the world. For winter weekends keep your spots open to try out this amazing winery. Everything is locally sourced including the pairings cheese and wines in house. We enjoyed and it was a lovely break.

Love this place. Honestly, I'm not a huge wine fan, but this spot is a great spot, especially for a date. Very pretty views outside too. The wine pairings are great. Staff is always great too!
It's really 0 stars because they seated us and completely forgot we were there. We waited and finally just left. Came down to the car to find two of the staff chatting it up with folks. Never going back.
I’m sorry but this winery is just not good. I feel so bad saying this because the woman that tended to us was super sweet. We did a wine tasting and half of our wine pours had so much sediment in the bottom of the tasting glass. Not to mention a tasting of four different wines costs $20!?! Everything tasted like it was skunked and it just really wasn’t good. Not to mention the putrid smell that hits you as soon as you get to the winery because a lovely compost farm sits next door?sorry but this will be a hard pass for me next time I’m in the area.
Of all the options in the area I wouldn’t pick this one. Stuck up and the wine is not to my liking.

Excellent wines and excellent service, a throughly enjoyable experience.
Visited Va La with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday party. We decided to indulge and drank about 6 bottles of wine, which, I must say, were quite overpriced for their mediocre quality. To my surprise, however, we were asked to leave on account of being too loud. Which was funny, considering the place was practically empty. It was quite disheartening to realize that we were only approached about this matter after we had already made our purchases. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the service at VaLa. I will definitely not be returning, and I intend to share my unfavorable experience with others.
Stopped by on a sunny mid-November afternoon with my dog. Had a flight outside with some pairing snacks. Delicious wines and very friendly service. ???
Lively tasting with Jane, who led us through the 4 wines of the moment and fun history of the winery. Fantastic wines, too!
This place was annoying. That’s the only way I can describe it. They trick you into a tasting and then love to hear themselves talk. Don’t think you’re going to be able to stop in for a glass…you’ll have to absorb the wanna be sommeliers and their egos before you’re permitted to leave.
