The best thing about this place is the cute sign. Nothing else. Frozen old stuff. Nothing is fresh??? How weird. I wouldn't even call it strudel -no matter what u get it is filled with brown mush. Definitely will never go there again. What a waste of $18.00!!!

I just bought my first and last strudel from this place. Among the worst food I ever ate. First. Nothing is fresh! Everything is stored in an old freezer. What bakery has nothing fresh?? Then I cooked it. Upon cutting an apple walnut strudel open the contents were all dark brown mush. It looked and tasted like it was very very old. I will never shop there again. $17.00-wasted!!!

We had the pleasure of taking home the last pumpkin & cheese strudel from the Saucon Valley Farmers Market today. I intended to take a photo but got so mesmerized by the smell of it baking that I couldn’t help but dig in the moment it had cooled down. SO TASTY! so tasty that it was actually all gone within a few hours- oops! Will definitely return for more. Great strudel and great business owners, too!!!

This is hands down one of my favorite places of all time. While my heritage is PA Dutch I was fortunate enough to be raised by a Slovak Stepdad who introduced me to good tasting food including strudel. I've been a regular customer since they've opened and have never been disappointed in anything I've tried. Also my 88 year old Stepdad said it's the best strudel he's had since his Grandmother's which says a lot. Most importantly, you will not find better people than Kelly and Tom. To them you are not a customer, you are a friend. Whenever I go to the shop or see them at a Farmer's Market I feel like Norm from Cheers. If you haven't been there yet you don't know what you are missing!

Saw them at an event in Bangor, PA. We tried a variety of samples which were amazing. We bought a variety of them and they were very generous portions and delicious!!! ?

The blueberry cheesecake strudel was love at first bite. Very much highly recommended, I give them five stars.

This place has many options for filling. However, you cant just go in and order fresh pastry to go unless you call in 2 hours ahead. I would have spent more money there if I was able to purchase something already prepared. Yhe consumer eats with their eyes first, but not here. You will have to take away a frozen strudel and bake at home. Imo, everything tastes better when it is prepared for you.I would have graded with 4 stars if i was able to see what I was buying.

stretch strudel is supposed to have multilayers of phylo dough , not one , poor strudel . way overpriced . taste ok , thats it . phylo dough already had holes in dough . thumbs down on $17 for a pile of filling

Stopped in while getting unloaded right behind them. Was treated as a friend rather than a customer and enjoyed not only getting to know about them but the area and events around that are very interesting. The food was better than I thought and I definitely will come back when in the area and even make a trip just to get out of the house one weekend with my wife. Best experience I have ever had at an establishment.

Mattie's Strudel Haus was an added stop for us on our way from NY/ CT border to Wheeling, WV. My Hungarian-German grandmother and other relatives prided themselves on twice a week strudel making. I was too young to master the stretching, but tried it as a new bride several times more than 55 years ago. So discouraged! Actually gave up trying to make it, but always have it when I find it. What a find!! Kelly and Nolan welcomed us, baked a sour cherry strudel since we couldn't do it while on the road, had it ready for pick up. We came just after 5 on a Thursday. We were invited to the kitchen and the stretching tables just to see them [YES!!!] and I was offered opportunity to learn to stretch. We did it, and my husband has a video. Such hospitality, such sweet rapport! Such kindness to strangers who are now friends! We will rely on shipping until we meet again!Julie & Don Bohl, Port Chester, NY

This place is amazing. Strudel is frozen when you get it. They are large and filled with an incredible amt of filling. They have a huge variety of fillings...meats, fruits and veggies. You have to try it

My family and I stopped by here on our way back from Blue Mountain, and oh my lord. First off, the employees here were all so warm and friendly. They were kind enough to offer us some samples of their fresh strudels while we made our choices. The selection of strudels ranges from classic apple to more contemporary flavors like artichoke spinach and buffalo chicken... And there are a ton of flavors. We bought some kielbasa cabbage, apple, strawberry cheesecake, and blueberry lemon cheesecake... And we're stoked to bake them up and try them all!

We stopped in on a whim New Year's Eve and what a wonderful decision that was! Despite having already closed, the owner spotted us and opened up. Tom was friendly and enthusiastic, as was his chef wife Kelly. They gave us samples, explained all the choices (many vegetarian options so I was delighted!) and were happy share their passion for Hungarian strudel cuisine. Honestly I didn't know much of this genre so I was thrilled to explore a new culinary adventure. We took home 5. We didn't have any NYE food planned so this was perfect. They come frozen. Upon baking, one leaked its filling which we noticed early enough to correct with foil, or you can use a baking dish. Be aware of this as other reviewers said the same. We did find the pumpkin cheesecake to be too sweet for our palette, overpowering the pumpkin. The cream cheese taste was strong too. It wasn't unenjoyable however. The Greek Omelette was divine, moist, generous olives, with a fantastic texture similar to a quiche. The potato and chive was a hit as well. Loved it! We look forward to patronizing this great new business and explore more of their offerings!
