Rosemary Fougasse
This leaf-shaped bread is a specialty of southern france . Made with focaccia dough, brushed with extra-virgin olive oil, sprinkled with fresh rosemary and parmesan cheese.
Olive Fougasse
This focaccia is studded with chopped greek kalamata olives, sprinkled with organic thyme and shreds of fresh parmesan, and then brushed with extra-virgin olive oil.
Garlic Fougasse
A specialty of southern france, this focaccia is for garlic lovers. It's bold enough to stand alone or it can complement any meal as an appetizer.
French Baguette
Made with a poolish to increase flavor complexity, this baguette is golden and crusty on the outside, airy, and soft on the inside.
Baguette Ancienne
The slow retardation gives it a chewier texture and a crispier crust than our traditional baguette.

Sourdough Baguette
We make this loaf using our sourdough starter in place of a traditional baguette poolish, and give it a 36-hour fermentation. Once baked, its crumb is dense, chewy and flavorful. We especially recommend it for serving with charcuterie plates and hard cheeses.
Beach Lake Baguette
This diminutive version of our standard baguette is coated in toasted black , white sesame seeds, and baked until golden brown. Each beach lake baguette will make two sandwiches.
Sourdough Wheat Boule
A mild wheat bread with a hint of sourdough and honey. Its soft crumb makes it an excellent choice for open-faced sandwiches and toast. Carve out the top and it becomes a bowl for dips.
Bread with Saints
Pane coi santi--or bread with saints--is a dark, hearty loaf from italy. Made with white, wheat, and rye flour, it is chock-full of plump raisins and toasted walnuts--the Saints. We often eat it plain, but try it toasted with butter or cream cheese for breakfast or cut a few slices for lunch. A few of our favorite spreads are peanut butter and goat cheese.

This traditional egg bread is lightly sweetened with a touch of honey. It makes the best french toast you've ever tasted!

Lisa's Sourdough
Because this bread is made with levain, a natural sourdough, and no added yeast, we let it ferment for 36 hours before forming it into loaves. The extra fermentation time gives it a robust, sour flavor.

This is a top-notch bakery. It is a store, not a restaurant, and open only 9-4 on Saturdays. Really good, but not cheap. It can be very slow, especially on holiday weekends, since they only allow one customer to enter at a time. Also not much parking (see below). I've been coming here for about 8 years. It's closed from early January to early April every year.

Imagine finding the most delicious breads, pies, pastries and cookies tucked away on a quiet road in Beach Lake, PA. One bite would make you think you were on a street in my hometown of Brooklyn. The front of the bakery looks like the garage for a private house on a country road. The store only has room for one group at a time. After 30 years of living in Tafton, Pennsylvania, my Bride and I just discovered Beach Lake Bakery — and what a wonderful surprise it was!
