No one in there, had one drink and left. Guess coming from the city, got used to every bar being somewhat full. Bartender didn't really socialize, guess the regular was to important. Definitely made me feel unwelcomed in an establishment. Drink was good, but just left after one.

Fantastic pierogies as featured by Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Each is about half a pound. Definitely a dive-bar type of place but, if you're looking for Pittsburgh pierogies, this is the place. Reserved a star as the cleanliness could have been better.

Whether you ARE or ARE NOT a bar go'er, this place is enjoyable. Let me explain why...The 1st time i ever walked in this place was only to purchase a 6 pack to-go so I had something to bring to a birthday party i was on my way to. Honestly, I did not want to leave! Both the bartender Kathy and the owner Stan introduced themselves & were welcoming. I didn't feel out of place or weird for walking in alone. Secondly, there was a nice open pool table (×2) with players. Open table means free table, which is a nice courtesy as many local bars are upwards to $2/game. Lastly, the customers for the duration of my evening (as I was now 4 hours late to the party I was originally going to attend...) were so friendly, no drama, no creeps, I felt comfortable and safe despite wandering in there alone which is a rarity for me. I had a very enjoyable evening and eventually all my friends brought the birthday party back to the Starlite until close.

Nice little neighborhood bar, love it !

The snobbier types may be put-off by collateral matters. First, getting a parking space within 3 blocks is pure luck. (Hint: there are a few spots in the alley behind the business.) Second, this is a neighborhood bar where the decor hasn't changed since the 1970's-- and it was already dated back then! But the pierogis are HUGE and service was very friendy! We mixed and shared a single appetizer and a sngle dinner combo plate, and had plently leftover for our lunch. (warning: when I say the pierogis are HUGE, I mean to say that 1 pierogi is the size of Big Mac, almost. These are not dainty, little finger foods that you need 3 or 4 or 8 to feel filled. It'll be 1 and done for most people.)

Tons of homemade wonderfulness!! This place is far from fancy. You get a boatload of food no matter what you order. Famous for Pierogie so I highly recommend those. 3 can feed 2 adults!! See my pics!!

Pierogis over the top good! Parking and street scape qualify it for Guy Fieti's 3D grouping (#FoodTV), but get past-it. Nice people, great food! Asked for GF pasta on my Chicken Diablo - No problem, went to the cellar and got it? Nice!

A small local bar of the kind that used to be everywhere but are now getting harder to find. Wandered in on a whim and boy, we were glad we did! Super friendly and good prices. Plus, I could smoke inside!
