Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Love this local gathering spot!
Neighborhood bar, food was decent but what I found a bit weird was a bartender called out a customer over the tip that someone in his group had left the previous night, man don’t do that it looks like your begging, also please learn to pour Guinness, I know it’s really hard but try

Nice neighborhood dive. Maybe appeals more to regulars, but I still like the vibe of the place. Maybe I'll eventually become a regular. Good prices, stiff drinks ??

This place has been my go to for Friday lunch for years. A recent exchange with pseudo manager “Brandon” changed all that. My XP……I noticed a heavy over charge on my custom Margarita they have been serving beautifully for years. When asked why the $16+ charge for what is normally $10-12 I was told by Sir Brandon that I’ve been ripping the bar off for years?? What? Who says something so stupid to a loyal customer?? He was referring to an up-charge due to requesting a Grand Mariner floater which is how a “Golden Margarita” is made by any professional bar keep. He complained that I was the problem because I expected a free “shot” of GM in my drink. That is patently up surd. I never asked for a full shot, just a splash. When I called this to his attention, instead of letting it slide and advising me it would only be a “splash” (it’s called spooning a liqueur to enhance flavor), he copped an attitude, stuck to his guns and said no adjustment warranted or needed. Really?? This is how you treat a longtime regular?
Brandon is a short statured, pretend to be tough guy who bullies others (ask the employees and other regulars) and thinks he owns the joint. The sad part is owner /operator “Joe” is just a wonderful guy and always has time for a warm hello to his patrons. Bartenders like Pat” and Chef “Phil” are also always kind and would do anything to accommodate you. Not sure why ownership keeps him around as I am not the only one who feels this way….i have witnessed other, bullying exchanges with other patrons and employees. If/when I even bother to return I will call ahead to ensure “Sir Brandon” is not on premises. I suggest others do the same. In the meantime, I am checking out an array of other options for my weekly lunch to enjoy. There are so many choices I was unaware of because of my unwavering loyalty.
In a world gone crazy, people can choose where they want to call “home” for food, drink and any kind of sports viewing. I’ll be telling my friends, family and business clients to seek an alternate spot moving forward.
PS….I never write reviews so this experience had to have been as rude and belligerent as reported, for me to even bother writing it……..
Cheers “Brandon”…..!
A terrible experience.
It took 30 minutes after being seated to get water and our order in. After that, we never got any refills.
We asked for a drink menu, but they said they do not have one. Could never get a straight answer as to what drinks could be made, even though we saw people with margaritas and mules.
Food order was not correct. Asked for no tomatoes and chips. Received tomatoes and fries.

I visited this place with some of my friends, which is located in the main area of Berwyn. I see a lot of folks who seem to be close groups and locals watching NBA at the time. They have a good collection of beer and nice place to catch some games or spend time with your friends. The service is fast and staff is very attentive. They seem to have an outdoor spot for the service. The parking is challenging at times. Great place. Check it out.

We came here for dinner on a somewhat quiet Saturday evening. Luck was on our side as they had no problem getting us a table for four and we were sat quickly. Service was friendly and the menu was surprisingly deep. Overall, the food did not disappoint. We started with the French Onion soup - it is on point and if you like French Onion, I recommend it. I went with the meatloaf sandwich. It was good, but the BBQ sauce was a bit sweet for my liking. Still a creative and enjoyable sandwich. We also got a poke bowl, which was very fresh. I'd recommend getting the dressing on the side as that could overpower some of the aspects of the bowl, but no other modifications needed.I've heard this place can get busy and is a bit of a dive bar. Given its location, I am sure it can get busy so I would plan ahead if you want to eat. As for dive bar, not sure I'd call it that but if I did it would more bit a complement. I say give Berwyn Tavern a go if you are in the area.

Nice bar. Doesn't look wheelchair accessible but they do have a ramp in the back. You have to call for someone to let you in but they were very friendly and willing to do it! Very friendly staff! Loved our time there!
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp but you have to call them to let you through the gate. It's a historic building so it's amazing that they've added this accessibility! They were more than happy to let me in and out! Super friendly about it. Also, there is a large accessible bathroom next to the front door. The ramp entrance is at the back so you don't see it but they have one!
