Stopper's Steak and Seafood

Been going here for years, never had one bad experience.

I always found Stoppers to be a modest, yet very cozy place to eat -- with a relaxed atmosphere, efficient staff who are extremely kind and personable, and always get decent food. Prices are reasonable.

Went for Valentines Day with a 7PM reservation. We were seated at 7.00. Ordered our food at 7:15. We sat till 8:30 till we got our food. (The chairs are not very comfortable) At first, we were not given an excuse for why we didn't have food yet. (Actually, we were being avoided) Finally, our table and another were told that the kitchen was behind. Both tables ordered at the same time. The main dining room had about 6 tables of people. The rush mostly left by 7:15. When we finally got food, we had a half hour to eat and get out. They closed at 9:00 pm. Both tables got their food at the same time. Nothing was done to compensate for the extremely long wait time for food. They could have at least given us free desert, especially with a $237.00 bill and a $48 tip. The food was excellent, but I don't know that I will make that mistake again. We should have paid for our drinks and left. This was not our first time here, so this is not the norm. But to have such a long wait go unacknowledged by the management is just bad business. I felt bad for the other couple that was paying for a babysitter. They were late getting back home. By the time we got our food, there were only the two other couples in the room with us, left in the whole restaurant. They were cleaning around us for the close. It wasn't a great romantic experience as the chaos of the cleaning and the staff yelling about someone abusing the vacuum just killed it all.

Good food. Decent service. Worth a revisit. Had a great bourbon suggestion from the bartender.

The fish seasoning was alright but they did a great job at NOT overcooking the seafood I got.

Service was excellent, food was delicious, and atmosphere was very relaxing, We had surf and turf everything was done perfectly, not over seasoned. Filet could have been cut with a butter knife. Lobster was very tender and delicious.

The smell of smoke and musty basement when you walk in. Didn’t sit us in dining room, sat us next to the bar! A booth would have been plenty with smaller kids. My daughters salad came with a BUG in it. Told the waitress and NO comp was given or taken off.. My son got sick from the kids burger meal, was throwing up and stomach cramps.. A 115.00$ dinner and 22.00$ tip for a smoke room walk in! Won’t be returning.. Outdated to say the least.. Disappointed is a understatement!

We went on Mother's Day weekend and the atmosphere was great! The waitress was super friendly and helpful. The food was sooo yummy and the bartender was really good! We also got food to go and the quality was awesome as well.

Kid-friendliness: They have something like a Happy Meal that comes with a toy! Our kids loved it and liked their chicken tenders and fries!
