If you are looking for a restaurant that is truly a class above anything else in Central Pennsylvania, you must visit La Malbec.

Jason and I went for dinner hoping to find something a little more upscale, and this place absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was beautiful—homey yet elegant, fun yet sophisticated. The décor is stunning, and the attention to detail makes the entire experience feel special.

Our waitress, Sue, gave fantastic recommendations, and we started with the shrimp shooters—light, flavorful, and a fun start to the meal. The menu was so incredible we couldn’t pick just two entrées, so we ordered three!

The duck l’orange came with the best Brussels sprouts we’ve ever had, the lamb chops were perfectly tender with a phenomenal mint sauce and mushroom risotto, and the corvina topped with lump crab meat and pea & corn risotto was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

The cocktails were spot-on, and we paired dinner with a Malbec and a Sauvignon Blanc—both perfect with the meal. Dessert sealed the deal: the chocolate cake was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, (think Lava cake) and the bread pudding was fantastic.

The chef even came by our table, and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Roxanna, who was so warm and welcoming. Sue also showed us the outdoor deck, which looks like an incredible spot in warmer weather.

This restaurant is truly something special. It is hands down a class above anything else in Central Pennsylvania, and we cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommend. We can’t wait to go back!

Went tonight for dinner, not meant to be a complaining review just my experience. I quite enjoyed myself here but do have some notes. First, the service was wonderful. The restaurant was very clean, modern-ish for the area, and quite comfortable--a welcome retreat from the standard NEPA pub. I ordered a manhattan to start but after realizing they only use bottom shelf vermouth, i asked for just the whiskey, bitters, and cherry. I wont drink martini and rossi because it ruins anything it touches. I usually judge a restaurant right away if theyre using M&R. Dolin or Carpano for an upscale restaurant should be the standard.

I ordered the house salad which was nice. Enjoyed the mustard seed dressing. The salmon my wife got was great too. I ordered the duck a l'orange and it was just bad.

They only served legs which maybe it said on the menu so no biggie. But the meat was gray and very tight. The sauce was so mild and underseasoned it didnt really taste like anything. The meat itself was very tough and hard to cut. Perhaps they batch prepped the legs and reheated quickly to serve? I wouldnt order this dish again here. Actually i didnt even finish it and they ended up giving me half off which was fine. The mash and slaw they were served with were good. I could actually down a huge helping of the slaw--great stuff.

Overall, id come back and try something else for sure. I think maybe i should have stuck with a more common item on the menu for a better experience.

5/10 food, 8/10 spot, 10/10 service.

We had a party of 13 at 10AM and got put in the basement which was cute but challenging for the server. We told the server we had a 6.5 hour drive home so we wanted to get the food in asap. The coffee was cold; the server couldn’t keep up on ensuring we Eve had coffee or creamer. Everyone ate breakfast at different times as the food all came out at different times. They forgot my husbands meal and my sons eggs. Over $400 in food. Took 2 hours. We should have just went to Waffle House

Brunch at Lamalbec today was nothing short of perfection. Every detail—from the food to the service—was thoughtfully executed and truly memorable. The filets were cooked exactly as requested: juicy, tender, and perfectly done. The potatoes struck that ideal balance of tender on the inside with a crispy exterior, the onions were beautifully caramelized, and the scrambled eggs were just the way we love them—soft, creamy, and seasoned to absolute perfection.

We finished with strawberry crêpes that were light, fresh, and stunningly presented—an absolute delight both visually and in flavor.

What truly set this experience apart was the personal touch. Chef Andres came to our table himself and brought me a special bowl of his French onion soup to make up for one that hadn’t been made correctly by a different chef on a previous visit. That soup was phenomenal—rich, comforting, and clearly made with care. Even more impressive, he returned again to personally ensure we were completely satisfied.

This was hands-down one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. Lamalbec exemplifies what exceptional dining should be, and we will most definitely be back again.

I absolutely loved my experience here! I had the best server, her name was Lauren. If she is there, request her! She made the experience 10x better. Lauren had the biggest smile and got us everything we needed. I got an amazing espresso martini, as well as the empanadas for an appetizer; it was all cooked to perfection. My main meal I got was the Tuscan Chicken. I am still thinking about how good this meal was and all the flavors in it. I am so happy with my dinner and will be coming back!

Atmosphere is lovely as you would expect, service is great.
The 1 available Vegetarian option for large plates is not my favorite, kind of bland, expected. I really miss the coconut curry cauliflower steak, that was more inspired, better flavors, less mundane. Would frequent often if more vegetarian options were available.

So disappointing
Took the family out for a special meal
Took way too long to get drinks
Waited 1.5 hrs for 4 of 6 of our party to get their meals And another 30 minutes for the rest to get theirs

Waitress was thoughtful and clearly embarrassed by the kitchen’s delay

Food was outstanding including the tuna, steak and pork chop dishes

My wife and I came to dinner here for the first time this evening for New Year's Eve. We knew not to get too worried about the service because they were quite busy. With that being said, the service was quite slow. We had a table on the bar side. We were quite surprised how cold it was in our area. It put a real damper on our dining experience as we could just not stay warm. Our meal was quite good but my entree came out lukewarm and I had to send it back to get a heated backup. I'm guessing they used a microwave but that was fine because it came out at a good temperature the second time around. All in all, we had a very average experience. We'll chalk some of the service issues to a busy New Year's Eve. But their was no excuse for the cold environment in our dining area.

This is my favorite restaurant in Bloomsburg for date night. Everything is perfect for such an event. The meal is more expensive, but in a good way, because you’re getting a quality dining experience
