The Tom Yum soup is a total bait and switch. It looked nothing like the picture. Also, this soup is supposed to be a delicate blend of flavor. They killed it with too much spicy heat. Go try it at Teikoku and you'll see. The Tulip Dumplings are literally meat and shrimp...No seasoning at all. Except for soy sauce, of course. The whole thing was an insult to American people because they think as long as it is either too sweet, too salty or too spicy, we'll be satisfied. And, don't forget the bottled sauce to add insult to injury.

Last few times we went (mid 2023 to early 2024) the food was very flavorful and well prepared. My wife and I both enjoyed it. Friendly, casual place.

Quiet and clean. I've eaten here many times and continue to return. I've never had an unsatisfactory meal and service has always been terrific.

The lunch special is always a delight. The Green curry had a perfect spice level too. Absolutely

We were in Blue Bell on an errand. Ordered takeout specifying "mild spicy with no extra salt" on the spring rolls. I ordered the Basil Rice described as "mildly spicy" as an entree. Our home health aide ordered Chicken Pad Thai to share with my mom. The Basil Rice was fiery hot like extremely hot peppers. First, I reviewed the food privately, but refrained from posting a negative review. Instead, I called the manager and explained the mishap, requesting a credit against an order for next month when we'd be nearby again. I explained we live 35 minutes away, that I am disabled, and could not return with the food now in rush hour for a replacement. He would only offer a credit for a spring roll, unless we returned immediately for a replacement entree. He said the online platform showed that I had ordered: "mildly spicy" so the chef bumped it up ONE level. I believe that was in reference to appetizer order of spring rolls - specifying it be "mild." But, EVEN IF not, the Basil Rice was off-the-charts spicy, and I could not tolerate it due to health concerns. Shame on this management! I thought that this was a better restaurant with more appropriate management than this. These are terrible business management practices. We had eaten at this restaurant a few years ago, and, truthfully, expected a better customer experience.

Horrible Management -- This restaurant used to be a finer eating establishment at a reasonable price. Really gone DOWNHILL! Read some of the 1-2 star reviews online. The new management treats people horribly, and films them without their knowledge! Food - "2" , Management - "- 5" My review: "We were in Blue Bell on an errand. On behalf of the Thai Orchid team, we sincerely appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns. We take all reviews seriously, as they help us improve our service. However, upon careful review of your comments, we find it important to clarify some inaccuracies.Firstly, we apologize if the timing of our kitchen closure caused any inconvenience. We aim to provide a pleasant dining experience for all our guests. It's essential to note that our servers adhere to closing times to ensure a smooth operation. We value our customers and aim to communicate effectively during such transitions.Regarding the review of another member of your party (Elaine S.) the mention of our employees not being authentically Thai, we want to emphasize that our diverse team brings a wealth of cultural perspectives, contributing to our inclusive atmosphere. It's crucial to avoid assumptions about authenticity based on appearances. We were disheartened to read about the alleged altercation with our server. Our team strives to maintain a respectful environment, and we take such claims seriously. However, we would like to clarify that our employees are trained to handle various situations with professionalism.Concerning the surveillance camera issue, we assure you that our intention is to maintain a safe environment rather than intrude on our guests' privacy. We apologize if this made you uncomfortable, and we will ensure clearer communication about our security measures. We have been proudly serving the community for 20 years, and we regret that your recent experience did not meet our usual standards. We regret any dissatisfaction with the food and perceived behavior of our server. We would like to invite you back to give us an opportunity to ensure your experience aligns with the high standards we set for ourselves. All the best,Thai orchid teamOriginal post:In regards to Elaine S review made on 12/13/2023Hello, on behalf of the Thai Orchid team we are very sorry to hear about your negative dining experience! For clarification, our kitchen staff/management has remained unchanged for two decades and if race is really all you see when you eat your food we apologize but we don’t see race as a factor in one’s ability to cook food from a different culture. They have trained under our family for years and we see them as our family. After reviewing the camera footage and speaking to the staff on sight, we can confirm that you all finished your dinner and dessert and asked for boxes. Your party appeared inebriated and became belligerent with your server (he/him) after being politely reminded at 8:45 that we closed fifteen minutes prior and kindly asked to start wrapping things up. Your server did not demand for your party to leave immediately. He then contacted me, the manager, not the police, in order to confirm the closing time at which point you spoke to the manager and were allowed to remain until 9:00. Unfortunately, a member of your party became more agitated and attempted to grab your server's phone, take pictures of him without his consent after being reminded that we have surveillance, and threatened him. We take transgressions against our staff very seriously. Contrary to your recollection, we were also notified that your party waited in the parking lot until our staff had finished their shift to flip them off before leaving. Again, we are sorry for your experience but wanted to clear up any misconceptions.Thank you,Thai Orchid Team

Drove down to the area, and on our way we stopped by Thai Orchid. I enjoy the clean and calming atmosphere as i was brought out my three course lunch. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and my servers even showed me how to fold the napkins into Christmas trees for our personal use. Will love to come back once im back in the area!

We arrived at 720, a server finally came to take our order about 15 mins later. Service was terrible, our main dishes were served individually, about 2 minutes apart, which meant the last person in our party of 4 was served about 10 minutes later. When the other waitress had brought our meal, she announced that the kitchen closed in 10 minutes and we needed to order dessert immediately if we wanted it. Just to be safe, we placed a dessert order (green tea lava cake)....I said to the waitress "can you please wait until we are finished eating the dinner though, before you bring out the dessert"My mother and sister in law (ordered drunken noodles and Thai basil) said the flavor was very bad and they did not eat their meals...the waitress and server did not ask why, as a matter of fact no one came to check on us at all.As soon as they cleared the table, our dessert was brought immediately..there was nothing lava about the green tea lava cake. However, we couldn't even take two bites before the original server came over to us and said the kitchen closed 15 minutes ago (it wasn't even 830).The waitress brought our check and we paid and left a tip.And now, my Friends, this is where the truly bizzarre begins. The server (they/them) aggressively tells us to leave, that I had an "altercation" with THEIR coworker. THEY proceed to gaslight me , saying that I yelled at the waitress to not bring our desserts. This server then yells at us saying we need to leave immediately, that the restaurant is closed and THEY are going to call the police.Bear in mind we were just served our dessert and hadn't eaten it yet.I then ask them if I can speak to a manager (no) and if they are the owner (no). Finally, from their cellphone, they call someone named Katie, who says she is the manager. I ask the server If I can speak with her and they said no, don't you dare touch my phone with your germs...and put Katie on speaker. I try to explain the situation but the server doesn't let me get a word in edgewise, and Katie says that we can stay another 15 minutes, before hanging up. She never apologized for the servers outrageous behavior. For the next 15 minutes, this server stood in front of our table watching us with Their arms crossed..and making rude comments the entire time. I didn't realize that we had paid for dinner and a theatre. It was at this point when I asked for our check back, and that we wanted to change the tip.The server then tells me that we are on camera and they are watching us and recording our every move. When I went to take a photo of this, THEY told me that I was forbidden to take a photo but they were recording everything on their surveillance camera for the police. I asked if there was a sign anywhere in the restaurant indicating the presence of such cameras, stating that we are being recorded, and they said no. I'm not sure of the legality of this, but from the little reading I did, restaurants need to post a sign to record their customers.I don't need to tell you that our final 10 minutes at this restaurant were the most awkward I've ever experienced at any dining establishment in the entire world (I'm very well travelled and have also spent a significant amount of time in Thailand, including 2 months of volunteer work) and the food we were served was a far cry from real Thai food. Our 10 minutes were over, and as we stood up to leave, the server tells me I better not be driving (I wasn't) as it's illegal to drink and drive and they are calling the police now.Server follows us to the door and as I exit, I hear THEM say something. I turn around and open the door to ask what they said, and they said "I'm not talking to you, now leave and mind your own business" , slamming the door in my face...and then I realized that THEY had called Katie to tell her we left.I get in my mom's car, we pull out to leave, and no sooner do I see the server exit the restaurant , running to our car waving their arms ,and following us half way to giant supermar

Thai Orchid is one of those special places you’re thrilled your town has. Moody lighting, great food, thoughtful staff, the whole nine yards. Anytime I go out to eat I choose this restaurant. Truly such a gem in bluebell.

I would like to address the response made by the staff of Thai Orchid. I take offense to you insinuating that I have an issue with race. My parents were immigrants to this country and I hold that dear to my heart. My party was not inebriated and unless there was testing done you have no right to assume that. Furthermore, no where inside or out is there any indication or signage saying there is a camera. I believe by law that needs to be posted. Perhaps if you had cameras outside of the restaurant you would actually see how your employee followed my car waving good bye as we were only remaining in the car until the heat came on to warm up. Clearly, you have misconceptions as to what exactly happened but the result remains the same. Unsatisfied customers and the way I was raised and I was in the food business, the customer is always right!Original Post:I had dinner Dec. 13th, 2023 with my family at my used to be favorite Thai restaurant, however, when I noticed the chefs that were leaving were not Thai I feel it had undergone new owners/management. The food was not up to the standards that it used to be and the servers were extremely rude by telling us to leave as the kitchen closed 15 minutes prior to us even finishing our dinner around 8:15 and hadn't been given our dessert. My daughter-in-law and I couldn't even eat our food. Our server (they/them) was arguing aggressively asking us to leave and demanding we do so immediately. I was appalled when they/them phoned the police and followed us out the door into the parking lot as they/them waved good bye. Unfortunately I cannot give them a minus all stars because it was the most awful dining experience in my dining history.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area ! The interior is so charming. The service is amazing, my favorite servers are Katie and Crispy! They're both super nice every time I come to eat or order takeout. The food is also so good and really feels like your having a home cooked meal while you're there ! (plus the thai tea is very yummy)
