This little gem was ABSOLUTELY perfect. The food was delicious, service great, & the chefs presentation of the food was excellent. I am so please to find this Tavern.
Than you for everything. This is a special place to visit. I will be back for sure.🙂❤️

Atmosphere was good, and service was okay, food left a lot of room for improvement.

If you're looking for value, go some where else. Portion sizes are very small for what you are paying. If your old and wealthy you'll probably feel at home. It's a cool tavern but could use some TLC in places. We weren't even sure we had the correct entrance b/c the door way was so rough. Service was good, I have no complaints.

Our waitress was not attentive at all. We will be back, but hope we have a different server.
I hadn't been to Duffy's Tavern in years ( I live about 130 mi. away), so I was very much looking forward to a special dinner. Our server was wonderful but the meal was just so-so. The soup was lukewarm and the rice with my crab cakes was hard/crunchy--as if it hadn't been cooked at all or was leftover from the previous day. Very disappointed. I doubt that I will return.
Excellent service and the food was great! I love Duffy's crab cakes. The chocolate cake dessert was also wonderful!
Cool old place, built in 1819. All the food was great.

Enthusiastic and nice but a little fast, had to ask for plates for a shared appetizer.
The atmosphere could be much better if they would use all the potentials of the nice old building. I would definitely not use those harsh white LED light bulbs in the otherwise sweet old lamps and chandeliers. They just don't fit with the charm. Nice warm candle on the table and neon like white lights around us. Just not cozy as it should be.

The atmosphere of this place is very nice. However it is definitely a place that does some things well and others not so much. It was over priced for the quality of food but that's state college for you. If you like crispy wings this isn't really the place for you. They were ok but not crispy and the sauce tasted like some store bought hot sauce. My wife liked her filet mignon and my mom liked the crab cakes but neither one of them liked the sides of brussel sprouts. Service was also a little slow and they weren't busy. Don't think I'd personally come back unless the price came down to match the quality of food, even then it's a tough sell.

First, the restaurant had so much charm and we enjoyed learning about the history! We were excited about the menu. We ordered appetizers that came out pretty quickly and were good although they had several things that were on menu that weren't available. When our entrees came, only 7/8 came and then last entree was brought up about 10-12 minutes later. Additionally 2 Sandwiches that were ordered were burnt tasting. While the server was responsive we didn't think it was right the late entree was on our bill. After commenting on that, she agreed to have it removed. Overall the meal was ok. Wish they had been more customer service focused.

We made reservations for 3 families and everyone enjoyed their food, drinks and the history of the tavern. Service was accommodating and the individual rooms around the restaurant gave it a cozy feel. We would definitely visit again especially with a large party.
Nos encantó siempre que vamos, recibimos buen trato. La comida es muy buena y el lugar es bastante lindo y cerca de la universidad Pennsylvania
Our first visit. We arrived early for our 5:45 pm dinner reservation with two children under 7 (after a visit to the pumpkin patch), we were greeted warmly by the team who was preparing for a post Penn State game onslaught. Erin was sweet and handled the kids and our orders without missing a beat (quick delivery for hungry kids). The food was very good. We hope to revisit without the grandnephews to enjoy a slower paced meal in a truly special restaurant.
This was our first time to PA and it was tricky to find a restaurant who could accommodate a 16 person reservation on parents weekend! Duffy's Tavern made it happen! It was very cozy, delicious and unique.
Thank goodness our first restaurant reservation did not work out as we couldn't have had a better experience at Duffy's Tavern. We were wished "Happy Anniversary" upon entering and given our choice of where to sit. The service was fantastic, ambiance perfect and the food delicious!!!
