Seeing as how this is the only place to get real sushi in this town, I can state with confidence that this is the best sushi in Gilbertsville. I showed up at the end of the night as they were closing for take out, and they were extremely good about accommodating me at the last minute. The sushi and sashimi were very good, and the soup that came with it was delicious. Wasn't thrilled with the salad, which seemed to consist mostly of iceberg lettuce hearts with browned edges, but the dressing was good, and as I said, this was the end of the night, after they'd stopped expecting customers. As a former restaurant professional, I know that the salad is always the first thing to go; cut lettuce only lasts about a day. It usually gets thrown out at the end of the night; you have to make more every day. So really, it was my own fault, and I wasn't really in a salad kind of mood anyway, so it all worked out.Having good sushi close by is a very good thing. It speaks well of our little town that we have it.I'm glad Panda Garden is here, and I'll be patronizing them regularly in the future.Parking: Parking at side and rear of building, very convenient and safe.

Beware!I ordered wonton soup with our order. The Wonton had turned. The soup smelled and tasted horrible. When I returned it the guy was rude and gave me a hard time and told me that's what wonton is supposed to taste like. I think they are new owners. I will not order from here anymore.

Ordered the love boat for two, a couple special rolls and edamame. For the price, there wasn't much edamame, however, for four of us, it was enough. The sushi was excellent, fresh, and not too cold or too warm, just right for full flavor. The salad dressing was great as was the miso soup.Service was good, but missed things like giving us napkins. The decor is okay if a bit dated. Could use some traditional music to liven things up. I brought a bottle of wine.We haven't been since COVID, but we weren't disappointed. The outside of the restaurant does have a funky smell I think coming from the dumpster but the inside was clean and just fine. Tempura rolls tasted fresh and not greasy. I recommend this place for dine in sushi all day long.

Ordered take out here for the first and last time yesterday. Upon walking in to the restaurant I was already weary since it did not appear clean and I was the only person there. Also- why was it so dark in there? Anyway- after I brought my takeout bag into the car I couldn’t help but notice the weird smell coming from the food- smelled like B.O. Get home to try my sushi which just tasted awful and fell apart. My boyfriend got the general tso’s which was oily and also smelled weird. About 3 hours later he was throwing up. Luckily- I did not- however I did not feel well. Moral of the story …DO NOT GO HERE. Dark, dirty, stinky restaurant that WILL give you food poisoning. There are better options in town.
