$24 for a hoagie is just ridiculous. I'm mean Really who in their right mind pays $24 for a hoagie??? Theres soo many fantastic sandwich shops around these days that you can order a great sandwich for more than half the cost of this $24 hoagie. I don't care if it's 2ft long, not too many people want a 2ft long hoagie for lunch. Pure craziness.I was there years ago & yes it was a tasty hoagie but back then they offered like 10-12inch hoagie which is about normal size. Not sure why the owners made the move to take everything off their menu, not let folks shop in the market & only offer $24 hoagies but nah I will definitely not participate in this nonsense. I'll just go to Finks who has a variety of incredible hoagies, Finks loves his customers.

One of the most bizarre places I have ever been to. I walked up to the front door and it’s locked yet it’s open, so I had to knock. A young lady answered the door opened it about 3 inches and said may I take your order, dumbfounded, I gave her my order and she shut the door in my face. About five minutes later she came back with my order and handed it to me and took my card. I asked her if this was normal, and she said yes. I have to say these are probably some of the best Italian hoagies I’ve ever had, but the ambience, or lack of,is very concerning to me that no customers are allowed inside. I’m assuming it’s probably best to call first and place your order because your order will be taken at the door and the door will be shut in your face.

Apparently the rave reviews have gone to Mario's head. He now keeps the front door of the store locked and you have to ring a buzzer as if it's a high security building. Turns out, you can no longer go inside the store to order or shop. (Was he recently robbed? Did he get Covid? I don't get it.) Instead, Mario unlocks his door and will take your order while you stand out on the sidewalk. Your Hoagie choices are extremely limited nowadays. No longer will he make you a 12" hoagie. It must be his $24 two footer. But don't fret, he'll offer to cut the 2 footer in half for you at no extra charge, lol. I passed and went back to my truck thinking I just took part in a new Seinfeld episode called, "The Hoagie Nazi".

Hard pass from now on. There's no reason to wind your way through the narrow streets of Bristol for this disappointing experience.

I went today per my friend request and having a real Italian hoagie was the highlight of my day. It was delicious. The only thing that I was confused about is the transaction. They give it to you at the door and how do you pick out things in the market if you can't come in?

5 star since I love a family owned place and the food was good. Was just not expecting to be served through a door. Thought I was going to get to feel the love of a family restaurant.

Mario makes the best Hoagie in the USA. He makes it one way, the family way, for over 50 years.

This place completely changed my perspective on what a good Italian hoagie is. It was almost life-changing.

The freshly baked bread had a crisp exterior with a soft yet sturdy chew. The extra-toasted, heavy-handed sesame seeds add a pop of nuttiness. The freshly cut, robust cheese and high-quality meats shine through, with each bite exploding with flavor. Add some olive oil, vinegar, and the hot peppers they offer on the side, and boom—it’s the best hoagie you’ll ever have.

For the price, you get a hoagie large enough to feed a small family, made with the highest quality ingredients by a small local business. There’s no reason not to give it a try.

Parking: You have to park on the street.
