Brutal lunch. Was so excited to try the “best” steak. Spent an arm and leg for a tasteless cheese steak.

Opened up the wrapper and the meat didn’t even look like steak. Looked like chopped pork. Took a bite and had no taste. After eating it, stomach felt like a lead ball in my gut. Sadly I cannot ever go back or recommend. I feel as though the hype of this place is just that. Hype.

All ive heard is “Phil and Jim’s cheesesteaks are the best in town, you gotta try it!” So after two years of hearing it, I tried it.

Don’t know what all the hype is about. Maybe Covid killed my taste buds but the steak did not have any flavor and it seemed to be a cheap cut. For almost $20 for a cheesesteak I need to be blown away. Instead I almost blew my toilet away.

Maybe I got unlucky and got the 1 out of 1000 steaks that are supposedly “Best of” whatever every year. I’m gonna stick with my personal “Best of” from now on.

This place is a well respected neighborhood institution, and I appreciate their vibe. The service is very friendly too. It’s a solid cheesesteak. I’m not blown away, and it’s a fairly average sandwich that you can probably get something comparable from your local pizza joint , but I think they’re worth a try. This is a steak with fried onions & American cheese.

Grew up in Delco but have been living in downtown Philly for the past decade. The hoagies were fantastic especially for the price and I would say the best in Delco. Cheesesteaks here on the other hand were disappointing for Philly standards. The rolls were way too soft and meat was not seasoned properly.

Great staff, very friendly. The Hoagies and Steak & Cheese were delicious along with the fries. This is the 1st shop that I've seen with a dine in area with the vibe of a man cave and a very clean restroom. I will travel the 2 hour ride from Maryland again soon!

Philly cheese steak sandwich is so so good! And the bread was the freshest. Customer service was awesome. I think most people do takeout though. They were so nice to this out-of-towner. ❤️ this place!!

I found this place online while in town to watch my nephew’s hockey game, and I’m so glad I did! The cheesesteak was incredible, tender steak with just the right amount of cheese. The bread was fresh and soft, which really pulled everything together. The staff was super friendly, and the service was fast, even though the place was busy. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Absolutely the best cheesesteak I’ve had! Their onions and sweet peppers were the game changer. I went with two of my friends on our girls weekend and we all loved it! Can’t wait to go back and take my husband!

As my 1st time in Philadelphia, I tried several recommended spots. This was not on that list. However, it was the best cheesesteak I tried on my trip. I will be back in the area later this month. As soon as I get off the plane, I will be stopping here 1st.

Phil & Jim's is the best! Great staff, fast, efficient, & courteous Their dining room next door is the perfect place to eat & watch the Phillies. Love the food!

Best Philly Cheese Steak I've ever had! I have been looking and searching for the best one and I finally found it! Amazing service on top of that it was so good that I had to take one to go for me and my family! All around a 10/10
