d food and very friendly. Seems like a fun place to go. I was working so I didn't get to spend much time there. But it was certainly one of those places you want to go back to.

Side of rice was mushy…overcooked. Asked for chicken in the quesadilla and just got some weird stringy cheese mix. Not good.

Took over 3 hours for them to prepare 3 beef tacos. Blew my mind how it can take that long for something pretty simple. Avoid ordering online, not sure how they are in person, but avoid online orders like the plague.

I hate to leave bad reviews but this was just bad. Margaritas were bad, kids wouldn’t eat their cheese quesadillas, tacos were not edible.

Stopped here for dinner on the way to an outdoor concert at the Monongahela Aquatorium and had good food and a good time. They have a nice selection of tacos and other street food and a pleasant environment. The waitress was a hoot and the prices reasonable. We tried the Nachos, Fish tacos, Shrimp tacos, Chicken Tinga, Veg-Mex, and Brisket tacos. Several of their sauces, as well as the sides and tater tots and fries. All were tasty enough, but none were super exceptional. Of note though is that the corn tortillas are made in house. Some of them were charred a bit too much, but you could tell they were made there as the texture and flavor was great. The nachos were also very nice as they were built on a base of some sort of multigrain chip.Basically the menu is set up so you can mix and match everything you want from the different tortillas, fillings, sides, and sauces.Overall, a very nice dinner and with a price point of around $20 per person (which included margaritas and beer) it was not expensive.

A few things really surprised me about Carmen Tacos. Mostly good!Starting with the obvious, the tacos are pretty good. Like a lot of places that offer meat choices, they do some things better.I think their (ground) beef taco is really okay. Not much more. It actually reminds me a little of a more refined Taco Bell, which for the right kind of person is exactly what they want.Looking at all the offerings, I'd say the beef was the bottom (again still okay) followed by the chicken, then barbacoa beef and then the pork. Personal preference. However, standing at the top of the taco pyramid was the brisket taco.Gotta say, right now? That's my favorite taco they carry and is in my top 3 tacos anywhere around. That smokey beef on top of a charred flour tortilla was absolutely perfect.Pretty surprised. Honestly, the meat seemed kind of dry and tough. I don't know if that's on purpose or not but it was surprisingly perfect. By not having drippy, juicy meat the tortilla doesn't go all soggy. While you normally want tender brisket, having that little bit of bite... tiny bit of chew, just makes for a better taco.If it was a bbq place, I'd send the brisket back. The way the serve it on a taco? Couldn't be better. It's a different kind of brisket for a different purpose. I really hope that was on purpose and not just a happy accident. It doesn't look like it's a permanent menu item. I hope I'm wrong about that.Last but not least, the wonderful crispy and hot churros? Man, great way to wrap up a tough day.Between V&V Scratch Kitchen, Brian's BBQ, Pink House Chocolates and Carmen's Tacos you're getting some great eats right smack in the middle of Finleyville.

Went there for the first time tonight with my wife… I promise it won’t be the last. Our waiter Matt was right on point, the tacos, wow! How can you say wow, it’s just a taco right? I had a smoked brisket taco on a homemade grilled corn tortilla with a side of caiso….it was to die for!

Went to Carmen's to try the tacos. Was beyond impressed. Best meal I've had at a restaurant in some time. Will return.

Definitely check out this new Finleyville gem. The fresh made soft corn tortillas and smoked brisket are delicious! The frozen margaritas and pina colada are a tasty treat after a long day. The small town vibe makes it feel friendly and welcoming. We absolutely needed a place like this to pop up around here!
