Nothing special. Just an old-fashioned diner in the middle of a neighborhood. Affordable and decent food. Breakfast is the best option in my opinion.

Ha! John's is by far the WORST at customer service!!
Who answers the phone as if they are so bothered by a phone call?????
Who talks to potential customers as if they are trash!! The lady and manager at Johns; that's who!!!!!
I am glad no money was wasted here!!!!!

Wife and I went to John's Hideaway Restaurant for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the chipped beef over toast with hashbrowns. I have to say, it was the best darn chipped beef breakfast I ever had. It tastes like homemade, was nice and creamy, didn't need any extra seasoning. Well done!

Really good food at this old school diner. I had breakfast, and the menu is simple, but it has good prices and great service.

Love this place. They treat you like family and prices are great. Highly recommend there blockbuster and Mac and cheese

Parking: On Friday nights parking can be a problem.

Kid-friendliness: Coloring pages for the kids and they treat them with care and love

Very disappointed with the serving portions two eggs on a side plate with barely any home fries; from a Greek owned restaurant you would think you got a plate of food for the money...

Typical diner fare but a bit on the lighter side. Prices were very reasonable.

Cathy and Nick are two amazing people. The town of Carlisle is truly blessed to have them and their restaurant.

Prices are very reasonable, but the food isn't all that great. They have a "vegetables" section in the menu that should be renamed "sides" because the list has almost no vegetables on it. We did not enjoy the corn or the broccoli salad. The meatloaf and hamburger steak were decent, but nothing was really worth coming back for. We normally go to Hickory Ridge, but they were closed today.

Breakfast! Best time to go. 2 eggs, home fries, toast, with coffee. That's been the special for years. Great food, great service, and they treat everyone like they're family. There's a reason that they have been around forever. The only drawback is that there isn't any real of street parking, but it's worth circling the block to find a spot. In Carlisle for the week, weekend, or a day? You gotta check this place out!

Kid-friendliness: A family atmosphere, they are kind friendly.
