One of my go-to spots in Carlisle over the past 5 years, never fails to provide an excellent all-around experience!

I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago, and unfortunately had a very lackluster experience. It was a Saturday night, and many tables were open. However, my partner and I were seated in an incredibly loud area next to two large parties and a loud speaker that was blaring music. We couldn’t hear our own conversation despite sitting across from each other. We waited a while to be seen by a server, and requested to be moved. About 10 minutes go by and the same woman we spoke to asked if we had talked to the hostess about being moved. I was very confused because based on the conversation we had, she mentioned she would speak to the hostess on our behalf so we could go to another table, so we did not do this ourselves. Finally, the hostess came over and we packed up our things to move to the main dining area (again, with many empty tables except for two others). We were helped by a different server at this table, and she was very nice. We did have to wait a while to get our bill because she disappeared for ~20 minutes, but no issues otherwise. The beer menu was extensive. I love Black & Tans, and while it was not directly listed on the menu, they were able to make it for me. Drinks were great. Now, onto the food… let me preface by saying I am NOT a picky eater whatsoever. I will eat anything, and even finish a bad meal if it means getting my money’s worth or if I’m starving. I ordered the shepherd’s pie and it was essentially a pool of grease with ground lamb, little to no veggies, and a giant mound of mashed potatoes at the top. Nothing at all like how it was described on the menu. I didn’t want to take any close up photos of this because I was so disgusted (the grease was turning the mashed potatoes a green color where it met the meat). I could not bring myself to finish this meal and instead ate my side caesar salad, which was fine enough.Overall, this was a pretty disappointing experience and I’m bummed. I love pub-style restaurants and I was very excited to try this one, but I don’t think I want to return after this experience.

Food was quite tasty and filling! Service was satisfactory. Location was nice and nice my wife and I could walk in and get a table on Friday evening. The place wasn't too busy but was noisy. We appreciated the funny "bar signs" on the wall. Nice convenient spot and nice to check out as part of a "beer trail" I'm going through. The beer cheese burger was delicious and filling and my wife enjoyed her large plate of nachos with pulled pork. Tried and true, had heard of the restaurant before, and see it's been around for 30 years when we visited.Parking: Plenty of street parking around town and it was easy to walk around town and find this restaurant and other bars and dessert places around town. Nice place to visit.

Market Cross has a great menu for food and drinks. There are tables as well as the bar area. There’s a room that can be used for large groups. The service is fast and friendly. We had the beer cheese burger and the lip smacker. Both were delicious! We’ve been several times and always enjoyed ourselves.

This is one of our favorite places to go in Carlisle. Authentic. Great food and self brewed beers! favorite place to go for St Pat's Day.

The first time I went here it was outstanding. Bangers and mash was delicious. The next time I was there it really went downhill. The food was not as good. The service was great though.

I have been here many times. When I first had a beef entree approximately a year ago and the steak salad it was tender and delicious. Within the last few months the beef was so tuff grizzly and chewy. After the third meal I decided to comment on the beef and left a piece to show the grizzle in it. The waitress was new and said she would let a manager know but no one came over to talk to me at all. The waitress brought my bill over and I paid the full amount of $26.00 for something that wasn’t pleasant to eat. My two visits prior the beef was such big chunks in my salad that I had to try and cut which was a chore and I still had meat stuck between my teeth and had to chew so much. My friend had asked for just some bbq in a bowl without a bun or anything and the waitress training the new waitress kept ignoring what she was asking for and told her they couldn’t do that. She said she was just there a week ago with no issues and she had allergies and couldn’t eat certain things. I don’t know about any one else but I am tired of throwing my hard earned money away for ungrateful service and disappointing meals. I will not be visiting this restaurant again!

This place has reliability good service, consistent food, and a huge beer list, usually spanning 10 pages! It's a great place for soccer fans or those looking for an English pub vibe. Also good for events and beer to go. Recommend hot wings, the lipsmacker, and nachos ?

Google maps random pick, and what a lucky pick! Went to get a dinner and to wet the ol whistle. Joe and Vanessa are top notch staff. Really just some of the best I’ve ever encountered. Interactions with the rest of the staff the rest of the night was all positive and a great good time atmosphere. I had the English bangers buddy had fish and chips. Both where incredible. Out of this world for a small pub. Long draft list, awesome staff, awesome food and great customers. What better could you ask for.

It's got a fantastic beer selection, good staff, service can be quick or slow depending on the time so just be patient, and this place also has been around for decades at this point, when so many restaurants close after a year - so that should say something.

What an awesome pub!!! Stopped in for dinner the other night and was very impressed with this gem. Everything from the decor to the atmosphere was top notch. The food was delicious and even tho every table was full the food came out fast. The owner was nice enough to take us and show us where they brew their own beers. It was just like they did it in the old days. Definitely stop in and try this place out.
