The food was alright, but nothing special. The fries were under done, the fish was soggy, and the soup was basically flavorless. The worst but was, the lights and the exit sign were both tricky loud, like migraine inducing.The folks were nice, and the premises are aging but solid. Clean bathroom and bar.If only the food was better, and the lights were replaced.

I went in close to when they opened looking for a new diner on my way to work. However, it felt more like walking into a crude poker game I was intruding on than a family restaurant for breakfast. The others at the counter were all regulars, and there were constant "f- you's" and jokes about the men's genitals coming from the waitress.I don't think the waitress even spoke to me after taking my order. She wasn't unkind - but her focus was the crude banter with the regulars. I can't exactly say I am offended, but it's not my cup of tea either. If you enjoy crude teasing, I imagine you would enjoy this place a great deal. As far as having "family" in the title of the restaurant, children should not come within 100 feet of this restaurant. My wife would loathe this place as well.Having said that, the menu is pretty fun, the food is very good, the prices are reasonable, and the food is served up quickly. I wish the atmosphere was a better fit for me. In terms of climate, you should just know what you're walking into, at least in the morning.

Very much a locals spot, if you're a regular you're family, if not expect to wait. Food was usual diner fare, wasn't super expensive yet not cheap either.
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The place was about 50% occupied. I believe it was the owner's son lying on top of the cooler with his feet outstretched into the soda syrup boxes. That was not what first impression I needed to see, honestly. The server was good. The food was not fantastic but decent. We sampled hot turkey, roast beef, a broiled seafood platter, hotdog, burger, and pancakes. The milkshakes were pretty good. The overall quality was just so so. No standouts, unfortunately. The big bummer was absolutely terrible dessert options. There was only one blueberry pie and the neopolitan ice cream flavors. Absolutely nothing else. It's such a big bummer. I'd honestly not go back.Kid-friendliness: There is a kid's menu, but no crayons or activities. Nothing fabulous.

Finally stopped for breakfast for the first time after passing by almost every day for the past 5 years. Visited early in the morning for breakfast so it was quiet and traffic wasn’t as bad as it usually is in the area. No complaints. Breakfast was good. Served quickly. Felt homey. Typical good options and fair prices. Would eat breakfast here again.
