Big oak was a pleasure from the first step in the door. The service was friendly and the options were good too. The only confusion we had was where to pick up our order as most cafes prepare the food behind the cashier. We had to walk across the entryway to a shelf that they bring the food to from another area. Not a big deal, but somewhat unique so it was unexpected and a little confusing until we saw someone else get their food. Food was delicious, they make an excellent Reuben. We enjoyed a perfect day dining outside.

They have everything you can imagine. Coffee is much better than Starbucks and Dunkin combined.

After the renovation and removing some of the sandwiches that were favorites, big oak definitely isn't the same. We loved the Sensible and usually went there once a week but have not went back.

Only saving grace is that there is decent outdoor seating. Of course, less and limited food, higher prices. Since the renovation, it has lost all its appeal and charm. Shame, really. Will no longer recommend Big Oak for any reason.

My husband and I would order from here at least once a week, we loved the Sensible sandwich. Since the renovation and limited menu, they no longer have that sandwich and many others. We do not visit this cafe any longer, they have lost our business.

The location and service has always been top notch. The food had been too. The broccoli salad dressing wasn’t right today in spite of the freshness of the broccoli. It just tasted off and too sweet. The sandwich I got was good, one made to order. The pickle wasn’t great and I remember the pickles always being crisp and fresh. Things change, I know, and I’ll still come back because Big Oak has got a lot to offer.

The menu is greatly reduced from it's prior state. Lost a lot of charm. Breakfast is no more honestly. So sad.

A year ago I would definitely have recommended Big Oak. But recently they have changed their menu (not for the better), a lot smaller portion size, no side selection, changed the seating around, etc. We will not go out of our way anymore to go there… if at all. Very disappointed.

I only gave 2 stars because the girl working the counter was very friendly and helpful otherwise it's a 1 star. Obviously microwaved eggs and meat on the breakfast sandwich and I suspect the muffin was also pretoasted then microwaved as it was mushy.

I would recommend the orange mango tea. Otherwise Big Oak is now a glorified Butcher Shoppe. Took away any authenticity the place had after the remodeling.

In 2023, I would highly recommend the café, with the pleasant environment with the delicious food, however, after the remodeling, the only thing I recommend from here is the Orange Mango Tea, otherwise it would be a better option going to Panera Bread than Big Oak Café

The atmosphere of the Coffee Shop has been displaced by their remodeling. They have crunched nice new tables together into a small area and removed a customer's privacy. It made me feel sad to see what was done to it. In essence, the "Big Oak Cafe" is gone! Even Sheetz and Rutters allows for more privacy with their seating. The open space now makes you feel as if you are sitting in the market with all the people walking by, etc. If I go shopping for food I would go into the market. If I wanted a relaxing time with a friend having coffee and a sandwich, I went into the coffee shop. That choice is now gone! They even took out the bathroom, for goodness sake! How inconvenient is that? I hope the Butcher Shop's effort to sell more "stuff" by making these changes pays off for them, but I, for one, feel our community has lost something unique and special. I've heard it said, that "If something ain't broke, you don't fix it." Goodbye to the Big Oak Cafe. ?
