Restaurant ordered to close by the board of health due to numerous violations to include: Improper hand washing, no towels at handwashing sinks, improper food storage, unsanitary conditions, lacking means to sanitize, unsafe food temperatures, lack of date marking, unsafe chemical storage, frozen foods beginning to thaw, lack of thermometers, food prep under dirty vents in the basement, lack of hair restraints, food facility overall is extremely dirty, dusty, and needs cleaning.

I got asada tacos that were not flavorful and too chewy, I did love the homemade tortillas they use for them. My boyfriend had chorizo tacos that were good. The place needs updated it needs more color and more “welcoming” vibes. Maybe some better Guatemalan art with fun facts. The tv in the back was playing some non-enjoyable tunes. Also the menu they give is not very big and needs updated and then the menu they have on the white board is too much they need to figure out what items they want and remake the menu. The girl that took our order was very nice.

Thoroughly enjoyed eating at El Quetzal. Authentic Guatemalan food with a lovely presentation. It took me back to a 2 week visit to Guatemala, I love their food. Definitely will go back again.
