Alter House Restaurant & Bar

Recently threw a party at Alter House and the staff knocked it out of the park. Every cocktail was perfectly crafted, huge thanks to Tammy, Andy and Mandy for keeping up all night and to Jess and Hayden for helping with planning and organizing! The holiday decor was classic, interior was very clean, food was fabulous and all guests were happy.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at Alter House. We hadn’t been here in a while but decided to try it again for my wife’s birthday and we are so glad we did. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive. The menu had many excellent choices and was priced very reasonably. Atmosphere was perfect as well. The portions were ample and were skillfully prepared. We will definitely be back again soon and we are so fortunate to have such a gem like this in our little community.

One of my worst meals of all time dining out.

Moved to the area after living in cities our whole adult lives and almost moved away after this meal thinking there would be no good dining options for us. Luckily found other gems since this memorably bad experience.

Food was not balanced (too sweet or zero seasoning on some dishes). Ordered the least and most expensive entrees and both were a huge disappointment. Didn’t finish either. We literally couldn’t stop laughing at how bad of a meal it was because we were in shock.

Service was fine but food wouldn’t have been worth it even at 10% of the price.

Tipped well but would never want to return.

The team at Alter House is brilliant—engaging, helpful, friendly, and genuinely enjoying their jobs!

We had a table of nine- ignored the table, forgot to fire our order and then fed us cold, sub par food. We waited 2 1/2 hours. No apologies. The owner is rude. Management needs a course in hospitality. Huge disappointment.

Also- they delete the bad reviews. This review has been deleted here and Open Table. So add manipulator to the owner’s growing list of bad qualities. I doubt they will be around long based on what we observed in house!

We had a lovely dinner celebrating two birthdays with wonderful service from Jared. The food is amazing, the service was very warm and friendly. We had a memorable evening. I highly recommend this place in general but it is a must when celebrating a special event.

We've dined at Alter House several times, and it never disappoints. The food is fresh and delicious. Service is efficient, and the everyone is very friendly.

Less Caesar salad than expected. Tofu not authentic. Truffle potatoes may have been frozen Martini good Great atmosphere & service

We had an overnight stay in Clarks Summit and came across this restaurant on Google maps. So glad we did! The food was excellent! Staff was so attentive. We had a great experience. Definitely recommend.

Went there on my birthday and they were so nice and accommodating. Made my day feel special! The one man band was excellent too!

The restaurant was very nice looking. Service was not very attentive. Our appetizer was great. But our main course the halibut was dry and over cooked!! Our friends had the pork chop and said it was tasty.

Amazing service personal knowledgeable wonderful. Food was delicious and unique. There for our anniversary and enjoyed everything totally!

We dined on Friday, October 17th at Alter House and had a wonderful experience! Our server was Justin and he was great!! He was super friendly and attentive. Honestly from the moment we walked in, the service was top notch. Hostesses- very welcoming and helpful! The food- soooo good. Absolutely delicious! I appreciate the vegan options and the squash dish with the vegan ricotta was phenomenal! The bar master/bar goddess made the best drinks and knows what she is doing!! Wow! The sommelier - very friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend and can't wait to return. Thank you very much!

I am not sure whether it was just the server or the level of staffing during the evening and she was overwhelmed. The service was quite slow, particularly for drinks. Ordered a beer well before the main course arrived and received it while they were serving dessert. No apologies, no comps, nothing...
