Alter House Restaurant & Bar

The restaurant was very nice looking. Service was not very attentive. Our appetizer was great. But our main course the halibut was dry and over cooked!! Our friends had the pork chop and said it was tasty.

Amazing service personal knowledgeable wonderful. Food was delicious and unique. There for our anniversary and enjoyed everything totally!

We dined on Friday, October 17th at Alter House and had a wonderful experience! Our server was Justin and he was great!! He was super friendly and attentive. Honestly from the moment we walked in, the service was top notch. Hostesses- very welcoming and helpful! The food- soooo good. Absolutely delicious! I appreciate the vegan options and the squash dish with the vegan ricotta was phenomenal! The bar master/bar goddess made the best drinks and knows what she is doing!! Wow! The sommelier - very friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend and can't wait to return. Thank you very much!

I am not sure whether it was just the server or the level of staffing during the evening and she was overwhelmed. The service was quite slow, particularly for drinks. Ordered a beer well before the main course arrived and received it while they were serving dessert. No apologies, no comps, nothing...

Great as usual! Always come back to Alter House as one of our favorite date night spots. Never disappointed.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Alter House! They personally wrote an anniversary card for us and even provided complementary champagne. The food and cocktails were delicious, and the moody ambience provided an experience similar to many restaurants in Philly. Highly recommend Alter House!

We celebrated our daughter's 25th birthday at Alter House, and I cannot say enough about absolutely special they made her feel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a “Happy Birthday”, she received a card, then each member of the staff gave her birthday greetings. The overall service was spectacular, we never felt rushed. The drink menu was extensive and hard to choose from, but we enjoyed some of the newer Fall cocktails. Every app and entree (the steak with chimichurri WOW) were mouth watering! The night ended with a delicious slice of chocolate cake with an enormous sparkler! Can't wait to return!

Very nice experience overall. Somewhat hard to converse due to noise level. Had special Korean dish with noodles, clams, and beef. Also had the smash burger. All the food came to the table hot. Server was very attentive.

Extremely accommodating for my parents' anniversary dinner. Willing to let me pay for the check and tip over the phone and communicated everything clearly. Even wrote them a little card which was a great touch! Just a little loud for my parents but nothing we haven't experienced before.

Menu was awful. It took 34 minutes for us to figure what to eat. Paying for the bill was bad it took forever.

We were regulars at alter house a number of years ago and then had a less than stellar experience with some mediocre food. Glad we went back and gave them another shot. The food was sensational. The wait staff was top-notch. Suggestions for wine to pair with our food were greatly appreciated. We will be back again soon and regularly
