I hate the idea of leaving a bad review on any small business at all. Especially in that town. But it’s not even fair to customers that stop for a meal to be left paying for that experience……. It’s gotten really bad….. I’ve tired 3 times now just in the last couple months, first, with a empty restaurant other then whoever is doing school off to the side, and still EVERY TIME food takes over 40 minutes to come out for small basic orders. Fruit flies swarmed around the table to the point you can’t even politely not swat fruit flies…. Even The ketchup provided was spoiled and really sour…. The food was just really really not good any time lately, to the point we just couldn’t eat it, and honestly it’s just not hygienic in general, I think they just kind of don’t care so much about the restaurant since they opened the beer distributor maybe? Bc it wasn’t to bad just a couple years ago. But it’s a unfair experience to have people come on spend money and time on stuff you can’t even be polite enough to get down, especially in an environment where the plates still dirty and fruit flies are swarming, I think they need to hang it up, or put a bunch of effort back into it…. Though staff is polite, by all means. But it’s a turn off from the start when u walk in and the staff is just sitting at a table messing around. And when you already can smell bad smells and see in the kitchen sleeveless cooks body hair and head hair not covered, while sitting in your pile of fruit flies, waiting for your less then edible food, it’s just a really terrible experience now days to be honest…….., One hundred percent wouldn’t pass a random anonymous inspection.

Stopped in for lunch, there was one other occupied table when we arrived, not counting the home schooling that was taking place. Ordered some onion rings, cup of chili, Blt and club wedge both with fresh cut fries. Rings came out first, very greasy but taste was good, they were made in house. Fries were fresh cut and decent. Wedge was very good, blt needed more bacon but toppings were good. That being said, it took around 40 mins for the onion rings and then another 25 or so minutes for the sandwiches. Bathroom was pretty bad (unisex) and the cook that had the tshirt with the sleeves removed was very off-putting. Waitress was very friendly. My first and only visit, will not be back.

Dirty. Open for takeout of course but the people running it were dirty. And it’s definitely reheated food. Like yesterday’s left overs. It’s alright. I definitely will not be back.

I don't understand if this place doesn't hire enough employees or if they hire them but can't keep them. I think her daddy needs to spend more time showing her the ropes cause I don't know how she keeps her doors open.

I had the shrimp basket here. First of all, I never had the option of battered or breaded when ordering shrimp before. I got the traditional battered. There were only two other people there so our food came extremely fast. I’ll sum this review up quickly by saying, it isn’t often that I am craving more of what I ate three days after I ate it. This food was to die for. I did think the portion size was just a tad on the skimpy side for the price but, oh my God, the taste more than made up for it. (Maybe just a few more french fries, guys. I know shrimp ain’t cheap). Would I go again? You better believe it because I want to see if the rest of the menu items are just as good. But, that shrimp …… it’s like I’ve died and gone to shrimp heaven. Thank you, Parkside !!

This place is filthy. How can you mess up a salad? Cooks with long hair, not up in a net or at least put in a ponytail. Plates looked dirty when they were brought out as well as any caddy, dispenser brought out for the table. Sketchy menus with a notice that prices could change at any time. No check for the table, just had to take her word that she was ringing up correctly! The board of health should look into this place. Never again.

UPDATE: Amanda, the owner, a 40-something-year-old woman, pulled my friend (a 15 year old girl) who also works there, aside when she saw her in public and immediately pulled out her phone to yell at my friend about the review that I LEFT. Talked her ear off for 20 minutes and then advised her not to be friends with me over this review. So not only is the cook unsanitary, she’s immature and trying to create drama between two teenage girls too!

Please do not come here. If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. I worked here for a day and did not look back. I went in for my first day without even talking to Amanda, AKA the line cook AKA everyone's boss. And when I tell you I was appalled as I stepped past the kitchen doorway (not even a door)... the cook doesn't wear gloves, she vapes while she cooks your eggs, and did not wash her hands once the entire day. I served as a dishwasher. The waitress' dump your coffee into a small bin on a rack and your leftover food in a BUCKET ON THE GROUND... there's no AC in the back, no breaks, no drinks, nothing, just slippery floors and HEAT. I was not required to wash my hands before working, and was told to not even wash any of the things, and to only rinse if it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, as they could not afford to waste water. Not clean at all - please, I beg you, don't come here.
