I have made the trip to this place a handful of times and it is always worth the drive. It has a very old-school feel to it inside like a 1950s 60s pop shop. The chicken is always crispy and juicy and all the sides are always on point. I wish they had biscuits instead of dinner rolls, but still, the place is great. I’d recommend this over any big brand.

The chicken here is really good! Most places serve dry chicken breasts because it's over cooked or it's been sitting, but The Specks recipe is great! The chicken is even juicy the next day.

Specks is a no frills self seat, counter order diner known for their broasted chicken. For those unfamiliar, this was a cooking style that was popularized in the latter half of the twentieth century which involves pressure frying food in special equipment. While its popularity has waned, the flavor is really great: it has the crispiness of regular frying but with extra juiciness and somewhat less oil. Specks seems to also brine their chicken which takes it up several notches...
