I was passing by this place on my not usual way home from work when I decided to stop and try Nigerian food for the first time. And I’m glad I did!

First the food. Delicious! I have a feeling most people come in already knowing what they want or at least speak Yoruba. The menu does not have any descriptions, but there are a few pictures on the wall to help. Since this was my first time having Nigerian food, I asked them to choose for me, only telling them “no fish or rice” and that “I like meat and vegetables”. Was rewarded with a healthy portion of efo riru (Nigerian spinach stew) with added meat (cubes of stewed beef) and a softball sized portion of hot fufu. Cost $17 and I was stuffed.

Although they gave me utensils, I ate it traditionally with my hands scooping the stew together with the fufu. The stew was really good! Very flavorful and not overly spicy. There was plenty of vegetables and was cooked just right. If I had to offer a suggestion - the added meat could have been smaller and in more even pieces. But it’s very small complaint.

Service: was good! My
Meal was ready quickly and was packed up securely with napkins and utensils.

Atmosphere : There are three or so booths to eat at, with lots of napkins and salt shakers, but it’s really a take it to go place - a “hole in the wall” neighborhood place where your money is going to the food, not the decor. I ate in because I live more than 40 minutes away and was starving.

There is a handwashing station so you can wash your hands before and after eating. Also got to watch some news on the large screen tv.

Value : $17 dollars and I was happily stuffed. I could have made into two meals but was very hungry. I ordered a Second portion to take home. 100% Would go back!

Customer service is completely awful. I asked the lady at the front about a dish and she yelled at me saying, if you don’t know it don’t try it. If this restaurant wants to survive, please remove her from the front, she has horrible customer service. She also said “what type of questions is that” I’m confused, if you’re running a food business aren’t you supposed to have capacity to answer questions about your menu? To make matters worse, it was only 1 other person in the restaurant so it’s not like she didn’t have time. I left without even ordering because I don’t trust people like that making food I can’t see them making. People make sure you know exactly what you want

Customer service is a mess. Ordering is not begging. People should pay for what they need

I ate from there today and I ordered mixed meat with jollof rice and casava leaf with rice. The casava was extremely dry and tasteless. The mixed meat consisted of two pieces of tripe , one piece of fat and one piece of beef. All the meats were extremely tough and not edible! The jollof rice was the only thing that was good!

I ordered the Mixed meats pepper soup. The price listed states $17 for a ‘platter’ when it was time to pay the lady said $21. I asked why I am paying extra ? She said it’s extra $4 for the fufu. to top it off I think she was expecting a tip for a pick up order. I believe Busynesses have to honor the price listed until they fix their mistake. Most businesses forget they are selling food and customer service.

I ordered jollof rice & chicken today and the chicken was so hard I couldn’t even bite into it. The rice was okay I just went to Popeyes to get different chicken which is crazy cuz I spent $15 literally just for the rice tray. I normally I go to Emma’s on woodland but I needed something close cause I was at work but this was horrible experience and I didn’t eat all day so I was erked
