Having live near Philadelphia most of my life I think I know a good cheesesteak when I see one and eat one. Mr. Joe’s is a good cheesesteak! Finally found a good cheesesteak in Lancaster County after moving out here from the Philly 'burbs. Took a while and about half a dozen or more places before trying Mr. Joe's. The steak was seasoned perfectly, and the roll was excellent. I'm not sure if they put it in a steam tray or just throw it under the lid in the final steps. Whatever they do, the roll was soft and tasty. Service was a little slow as others had mentioned, and the place probably looks the same...
I only went here because it looks so old school...like places I remember happily from my youth. I've only had two cheesesteaks from here and they were perfectly wrapped and absolutely satisfying. Seriously, my favorite cheesesteak. I just moved to Columbia and they're maybe a block from me. Thank God.
