My girlfriend ordered a cake for Easter. She went to pick it up today and they didn't have it. Tried to give her a different cake that wasn't even iced the whole way around and told her, "sorry, this is all we have". Now tell me how this is acceptable. We ordered a specific cake. Now what? 2 days till Easter and Pechin's screwed us over. Won't be back there again

I really wanted to like this place. Growing up in Fayette County and eating at the old "Pechin's Restaurant", fighting the flies for my burger, I was impressed at the cleanliness and quality of this restaurant. The problems were: 1. Medium rare steak was more like medium well. 2. Salad was all lettuce and no onions. Croutons and lettuce. 3. Had to share a menu. Even though we reserved a party of 15, we were short 4 menus. I mean wtf... The final b**** was, this was for my wife's birthday. And my mom bought an ice cream cake. But the hostess informed my mom that we couldn't bring it in unless we bought it from the Pechin's bakery. I'm thinking, 15 people x $15/head or so (I paid close to $20 for an overcooked steak), but we can't bring in a $10 cake. I actually suggested we go over to the new Burger King. I figured they wouldn't mind. But I was overridden. I guess the place s trying, but for the cost, they need to step it up. We ended up tipping the waitress 20%, because it isn't her fault. But I think a bit better food and a better consideration for your community would go a long way.

Nothing really made on site. Frozen and baked in store. Quality is not the best. Good doughnuts, rolls, pepperoni rolls.

Took a chance and stopped in on a week night after a funeral visitation. Very pleased with the menu and the service. Our server, Chase, was polite and very helpful. He had the cook made my mother in law a sandwich not on the dinner menu, made terrific recommendations for sides and entrees. The fried chicken special, the sweet and zesty salad dressing and the pierogi butter were things I normally wouldn't order but did not disappoint. As an added touch, flat screens have been installed in each of the booths that allowed us to catch a period of the Pens playoff game. Hope that you will take a chance on this Fun Fayette County restaurant. I'm hoping to see other reviews so that if we return, I'll have something else in mind to try.
I had take out this evening and really appreciated how well put together it was. They separated my steak pieces from the salad so my steak salad didn't wilt. They made sure I had plenty of extras to make my take out experience great. The general attitude of all the servers was amazing. The gal who rang me up was super nice and personal. It felt like getting food from a friend's house!

The Firehouse is one of my favorite local restaurants. Great food and great service. They FINALLY got a personable bartender named Jake. He's an excellent bartender and makes everyone feel welcome.

the food is good but my mom SWEARS they *never* give back your loose change. it's gotten to the point where she makes sure to take exact change so she doesn't get shorted.
