I booked a table for earlier tonight. I got an email yesterday to confirm the reservation. Today when we showed up, they had a sign on the door saying they're temporarily closed. So why did they even take my reservation? Why did I have to confirm? Why is there nothing on their website or any other place to note that they're closed? Totally unprofessional.
We were craving oysters and they did not disappoint! They had an unexpected staffing issue (someone had to rush home), but the bartender and owner stepped in to help so it was no big deal. They were out of several menu items, but had alternatives that more than made up for it. It was a great first experience there. Next time we want oysters, we will be back!
Wouldn't consider this any real oyster raw bar. All the cocktail, no real mignonette sauce- something they claimed came in a squeeze bottle and other condiments needed for my oysters. When arrived the staff argued with each other that they didn't want to take anymore tables as to who would be serving us! Overall less than thrilled with the experience and wouldn't go back k or recommend
This is one of the most underrated restaurants around! The food is always excellent! And the chef's daily specials are very creative. We love the ambiance and the owners are very friendly. You have to try the bread:)
Was hungry for oysters and a seafood dinner and the Fayette Street Oyster House & Grille did not disappointed. The Oyster menu had good diversity, covering west coast, Chesapeake, Massachusetts, and Canada/PEI. We ordered a variety and they were quickly shucked and served thoughtfully. Tried two cocktails which were imaginative and delicious enough that I contemplated whether I had the ingredients to clone at home. They had a fall sangria that smelled and tasted like fall in a glass (or a Yankee Candle store, which I consider a good thing). Also had the "End of the Rainbow" served in a copper mug and was incredibly refreshing. For mains we had the "Mahi Mahi Ruby" and daily scallop preparation (creamy polenta with basil drizzle) - both delicious. Dessert was a sizable pumpkin cheesecake to wrap up a wonderful dinner. I believe our server was named Dylan and he seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great dinner and succeeded. Will return soon.
Came in tonight for the happy hour menu and it was delicious! The burgers, oysters, fries and cauliflower were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying food is good but the service is terrible. We went back a few times and every time the servers and bartenders are just a mess! This past time did it though- the bartender charged our credit card twice then we realized she gave herself a $20 tip!! She looked shady and was complaining about everything the entire time we were there but we have never had this happen before. We are shocked! Watch your credit cards and statements!

I thought the atmosphere was very pleasant and service was very good. These were the smallest oysters I've ever had in a restaurant so I was underwhelmed by the “oyster house” oysters. The lobster bisque was very good as were the steamers. I'd try it again but as you can get better oysters in and around Philly they need to up their game on this front.
My son and I went for all you can eat crab night. The snow crabs were delicious. They give you 90 minutes and they come out hot. I would definitely go back.

Food and service is excellent. Must go happy hour and food is delicious.Great food and great time. Alyssa was terrific and the best servicer. 100% perfect. Drinks were made to perfection. Cudos to Bartender. We now have a new spot for dining.

The place was good, but not great. In our opinion, it was overpriced for what you get. If you are going for oysters, they were likely the best I've ever had. That was the best part. The grilled octopus was tasty but chewy. The place wasn't crowded but it took forever to get drinks from the bar. And the Fayette burger didn't live up to the $38 hype. The servers were really nice and we enjoyed their interactions. Overall, a nice experience, but not at the top of our list.
Went for happy hour recently. Food was excellent and reasonable. Staff was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go

Started out with 6 Oysters and they had both of my favorites. served with proper sauces and were delicious. Fried calamari and shrimp cocktail were amazing, hard to find good versions of each but here they were outstanding. Fresh and bright huge shrimp. Entrees were stuffed bronzino with lobster and crabmeat and other dish was seared scallops. Amazing taste as well as presentation. I will definitely be back. Server was a gem took good care of us. Drinks are really well made.
