Great food, service & vibe! Went for a dinner with friends who had not been to the Hook & Ladder before and we all had a great night out. Parking in the garage next door is easy & close.
Was so excited to go here for our 20th Anniversary. My husband has brought many clients here and it was always great. Tonight was not as expected. Wine was great and service was very good. Unfortunately food was not what we expected. Appetizer was very average. Spicy tuna bites. Do not order. Not worth it. I got filet and my husband got Rib eye. We both asked for medium but instead got medium well. Potatoes came out but no sautéed mushrooms. It was such a disappointment. It was our Anniversary and we expected more from a high end restaurant. We got comped for one steak dinner along with both sides. Unfortunately never going back.
This is my third visit, the food is consistently good and the menu changes somewhat. Braised beef main course came with a sauce that was too salty. One of us ordered a glass of wine based on server's recommendation without looking at the menu and it turned out to be quite expensive. The biggest issue is the live music- this is the second time we've experienced it in this restaurant, and it was really loud and not good both times . I don't mean there was a problem with the type of music, it's the singing. Either have good music or none at all. I wished we had asked for a table in the back, to not hear the noise as much.
One of the best dinner experiences I have had in a very long time! First of all, our server was above and beyond amazing! Second of all the atmosphere was unbelievable. The heat lamps definitely help with the chilly night air. And the food from beginning to end was absolutely delicious! I'm gonna be dreaming about this meal for a while! Thank you so much and keep up the amazing work!
Great service, dishes were executed beautifully and the ambience was lovely on the roof with open air seating. Perfect spot for a business dinner or lunch.
The sea bass was dry and did not taste good. Cost was very expensive for not good food. Probably won't go back there again for that cost
We asked for a quiet table which was granted. We were not expecting a restaurant week menu and were pleasantly surprised. Solid choices . Delicious food and very good desserts. Servers were well trained and quite nice. Very nice Sancerre by the glass, nice pour.
Went here during Restaurant Week to try it for the first time. Sat outside which was nice. Rest Week menu was very limited and their price was higher than all of the other restaurants. The shrimp appetizer was tasty but an odd combo as the grilled shrimp were served over a cold corn mixture. The strip steak was gristly and was served with two odd potato triangles that were like very crisp hash browns. No veggie but there was a weird little pile of diced apples with fennel on top of the steak, about a tablespoon. Never had diced raw apples with a steak but ok. Dessert was two options and both were disappointing. The wait time between course was slow -it was busy but not that busy. I wouldn't go back.
Good drinks, fun bar, pricy but cool food options. Bar is good for quality hanging out. Restaurant probably more of a special occasion option.

To start with the ambience was very nice. Beautiful rooms and decor. There were no other people there (diners) so it kind of detracted from the vibrancy however. (It was a Sunday evening).Since we were the only diners in the restaurant, the restaurant could have gone out of their way to provide exceptional service by saying would you like to sit in this area (patio overlooking courtyard, to enjoy the beautiful end of day) maybe, for hors d'ourves? Then we could have gone to our table to start dinner. So, no special treatment although an empty restaurant. The cocktails were creative and generous. Glasses of wine ordered were also generous pours and the best quality. Our dinner started with appetizers: Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was very good, everyone enjoyed it; the Grilled Octopus was also tasty but the Grilled Oyster was an incredible surprise. The oysters, (4) of them the size of a nickel were a huge disappointment. If the taste was good it was difficult to discern given the petite size; the Hibiscus Poached Pear V salad was enjoyable and a nice portion. Most of the entrees were very good as well, including the Ginger Scallion Sea Bass, the Grilled Cauliflower Steak and the Filet Mignon - 8 oz. cooked to perfection. The problem was the Seared Sea Scallops which again were a scant quantity of (4) and the size of a standard coat button. They were char-cooked on one end which tended to make them very tough and not very tasty. I should have sent them back but because the group was fairly large and we were in a celebratory mood, I did not. I had the Tiramisu for dessert, which was the best course for me and kept me from starving. The Chocolate Cremeux and Creme Brulee were also enjoyed by the other diners. It was a pleasant surprise to have free parking on a Sunday in the adjacent parking lot. I would go back to give it another try, after I recover from the much anticipated and disappointing sea scallops and grilled oysters.
The food was fantastic! Unfortunately, our waiter was not very attentive or helpful. It took a while to order drinks and food. He did not check-in with us throughout the night. Very disappointed in the service especially at that price point!
Came a distance to hear music and have a bottle of wine/some drinks. No music and plenty of open tables (10+) but hostesses said only bar seats available. All bar seats were taken. Hostesses said they couldn’t accommodate us so we left. Wow. Will never go back.

Delicous Food, and wonderful service! Our waitress had great recommendations and we enjoyed every bite! Pay for parking in the nearby deck. Restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Great decor and a great location.
