One of our favorite restaurants. Everything about this place is wonderful. Beautiful setting, great food, and if you're under the age of 13 you're not allowed in :)

Quite a place. Food and service was excellent. Complimentary valet parking, but if you want to self park you'll have to walk a mile. The valet will not allow you to self park. Should change policy for those who want to self park closely.

Amazing castle location for fine dining atmosphere and service. The sherry soup, lamb and short rib were phenomenal. Snores dessert was worth every calorie! Highly recommend!

Our book club has held our holiday dinner here for six years. Every year we reserve the same private room with a fireplace. Last year the restaurant called the day before our event to say they had “made a mistake” and given the room to someone else. We let it slide.
This year we booked a month in advance and were assured the room was ours. Yet twenty four hours before our dinner, we got the same call again. This time they also told us they couldn’t seat our group of fifteen anywhere in the restaurant. If a few members hadn’t cancelled, we would have been completely bumped from an event we planned in good faith.
What made it worse was the silence when we arrived. No apology. No acknowledgment of what they had done two years in a row. No effort to make it right. It was clear our loyalty meant nothing.
To be fair, our waitress did an excellent job and the food was good. But none of that excuses the way the reservation was handled. A restaurant that treats repeat customers this way isn’t making a simple mistake. It’s making a choice. And it’s the reason we won’t return.

Phenomenal experience at Hyeholde. The food was well made and mouthwatering. The service was very personalized and efficient. The ambience was so unique and memorable. Glad that I had this experience to celebrate an anniversary!
An enchanting American / Euro classic nestled in a nearly 100 year old manse built by the original owners set on a country lane not 20 miles from Pittsburgh.

Looking for an enchanting, magical, and virtuous experience in Coraopolis? In my pursuit for ambitious Pittsburgh restaurants, Hyeholde is the noblest so far.
For this review I will mention some considerations first. One, business casual attires is requested. Two, free valet parking is the only option, (be sure to offer gratuity). Three, there is a coat check. As pretentious as this all sounds, this truly enhances the experience.
The enchanting begins as you make your way up the winding driveway. You are met with a castle in the woods, with timeless light fixtures illuminating the stained glass windows. You are met with valet service, and ushered inside to be warmly greeted, and your coats checked before seating. Can this get any better? As you’re being escorted to your table, you pass seating arrangements in every nook, cranny, and balcony!? Before I got to my table I wanted to take a tour of the place. The entire estate is a spectacular experience. Taking a seat at your table next to a wood burning fireplace, time stands still; you are in Pittsburgh, but from a time long, long forgotten. Truly a fine dining experience awaits.
The menu is refined, upscale, local and seasonal. Hyeholde is French-American cuisine that has elements of comfort paired with class. We ordered the Terrine of Duck Confit and Foie Gras, Elk Striploin, and the Saffron Risotto. All were exceptional in quality, flavor, and presentation. The Elk Striploin was spectacular; tender, beautiful, and indulgent. The loin was as soft as butter. The Foie Gras was rich, velvety, and decadent. I really appreciate the variety of small plate offerings, it gives you the chance to try multiple options. The portion sizes were just right. Some may argue there should be more but it’s about the experience. It’s not about quantity, but rather quality.
The tone is set as you arrive, but carried through with exceptional waiting staff. Calm, consequential and leisurely. It is noticeable the service is intended for you to escape the hustle and bustle culture and to be transported to a tranquil escape. Hyeholde certainly is a place to eat, but it’s more of an experience.
Hyeholde is a worth every second of your time and more. It is charming, surprising, and the epitome of a fine dining experience. Pittsburgh has nothing like this to compare. I will be back again, and again. Thank you for impressing me.

Spectacular. Natasha was a great server!
Duck Terrine & Foie Gras, I'm still thinking about it days later.
Pork Belly. So tender and just melted in your mouth. Would have liked a glaze on it, but the sauce served alongside was very good.
Black Cod was cooked perfectly. Amazingly the radishes were the star though - fantastic!
I was hesitant about ordering the lamb rack - with the spices described it could have gone wrong in less skilled hands, but it was so, so good. Warming spices on perfectly cooked lamb chops. Eggplant pave gave so much. All the layers of flavor came together. Oh, and the fondant potatoes. Had to be sous vide. There's no way they got that perfect end to end cook on them any other way.
Sadly though, as has been our experience, dessert just never lives up to the rest of the meal. Creme brulee was great, but nothing extra special. And s'mores was really just burnt marshmallows in a nice chocolate pudding with cinnamon today.
All in all, I'll be thinking about that meal until we get back there. They do an amazing job from the second you pull into the property.

Not to the level they think they are. Good but not a 5 star fine dining restaurant. Would say mediocre at best.

Nice atmosphere and service, but when one of your party gets food poisoning, it's sort of diminishes the memory of experience . Most of the meals were excellent, but the chicken dish that led to a miserable night afterwards will lead to my having second thoughts about going there. This is especially true in view of the minimal interest the staff expressed when I called them to inform them of this event.
