Basso Reviews
There were three of us extremely disappointed. I must say to begin with that the server was great. However we can’t say that about the food. We ordered clams oreganata. Basso is an authentic Italian restaurant and wine bar located in Cresco, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 2010 by the Pipolo family, who moved to the Poconos area from the Bronx, New York in 1984. The restaurant's interior is designed to resemble a cozy trattoria in an Italian mountain village. The Pipolo family, including father Bill Sr., mother Fabiana, and sons Bill Jr. and Peter, are heavily involved in the restaurant's operations, with even the grandchildren occasionally greeting guests and bussing tables.
The menu at Basso offers a range of Italian dishes, including the Shrimp 390 with angel hair pasta, which has received mixed reviews. While some items, such as the calamari and house salad, have been praised, others have been disappointing. However, recent customer reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with diners highlighting the excellent food and attentive service, particularly from their server, Samantha. The outdoor seating area is also a popular spot for celebrating special occasions.
Despite some past issues with reservations, Basso has established itself as a favorite Italian restaurant in the Poconos area, with customers praising the authentic flavors and family-oriented atmosphere.
