Dinner specials were delicious, atmosphere amazing, service excellent and the music was enjoyable! Our first time and we truly enjoyed ourselves ! Bought a hoodie to advertise and remind myself to head back! ❤️❤️

We usually have a good experience but not the last time. In fact, the last few times we went there were not the best. The Fired Chicken was always really good. A leg, breast and thigh deep fried. Not this time Air Fried Breast and very salty. Hope they go back to the way they have done it in the past!!!

First time at Backwoods last night. It was a nice drive to get there. Upon walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff and seated immediately. The waitress was friendly and came over within 1-2mins of being seated. The drink menu was extensive and many great food choices which made it hard to pick from. We ordered the smoked wing appetizer with Thai chili sauce which was excellent, and perfectly prepared. Came with HOUSE MADE blue cheese and boy you could tell, best blue cheese I’ve had. Cocktails were made well, not watered down. Ribs with cornbread and coleslaw and the weekend special, mini beef Wellington were our meals. Ribs were dry rubbed and came with a side of sauce (again house made and you could tell by how tasty it was) which is how I prefer them (no everyone agrees so be aware). The ribs were perfectly tender and REAL smoked just like the wings. The cornbread was spot on. Now be aware that the coleslaw is vinegar based which is super hard to find around here but was excellent (not everyone will like it). The beef Wellington was amazing, and being such a hard dish to pull off, the chef should be proud. The staff is extremely attentive. We were checked on frequently but not to the point where it was annoying. If any of the staff saw a dirty glass or plate it was quickly removed from our table, not just by our waitress. The staff was dressed nicely and looked professional. The owner was on-site checking on everything.A very pleasant experience that proved backwoods to be a hidden gem. We will be back! Keep up the high standards, it shows in the food coming out of the kitchen!

I've been to backwoods many times because I love the ambience but the food is just meh. On New Year's Eve though it was very good. Service was top notch. Blood orange margaritas are delicious!

This was our 1st time at Backwoods and it will probably be the last, our waitress Eva was very attentive but the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered wings and the Brussel sprouts for appetizers, wings were good but the sprouts were as hard as rocks, couldn't even bite into them, then we both ordered ribs, a full rack and a half, when they came out they were as black as charcoal, ok we know the rub gets dark when you smoke them but the meat was so dry there was absolutely no juice left in them. For 33 dollars for a full rack of ribs you would think you would get more than a slice of corn bread and a tablespoon of the worst coleslaw I have ever tasted. Then to make it better when it was time to pay we had a 100 dollar gift card that was given to us, the bill was 75 dollars and change, instead of deducting the amount we spent and giving the card back they kept the rest,, so wrong! Needless to say, we won't be back!

My wife and I have a nice little getaway in NEPA on the Susquehanna. We found this little gem this summer and have been back many times. Great atmosphere, food is outstanding, the wait staff is exceptional. If we don’t bring friends, we love sitting at the bar and having dinner. It’s our new go to place when up in the area.

We live locally and have gone several times. The food is always excellent and so is the service. We went for the first time with our two year old and the experience was great. The only thing I've noticed every time we go is that the music is very loud.

The food is very good, but not good enough to warrant bad service. Went last night with 3 girlfriends around 8:30pm, their Google listing claims they close at 10pm, and we were not the only ones there. We all ordered a drink and small plates. The hostess, who ended up being our server, had to “check with the kitchen” that it was okay to seat us. She then proceeded to hurriedly take out drink order and rushed us to decide on our food order. We all just settled on small plates. After the food came, some of it still too hot and fresh to even begin eating, she immediately started asking us if we wanted boxes, when we hadn’t even taken two bites of our dishes. She then proceeded to come back to the table at least 6 times, in excess, to ask if we needed boxes and how we wanted our bill split.I will give them credit on the food, which is very good, however the service makes you feel unwelcome. I’ve worked in the industry, at places where they still accept customers up to 2 minutes before closing. You’re never walking out the door right at the close of business as a server or a line-cook, but that table that you’re rushing out the door on a slow fall/winter night, in the slow season, could’ve been another $20-$30 for you, and another $60-$100 for the house. And if they truly close before 10pm, they should post that on their Google listing. Overall I won’t be back.

First time here. Lived in Dallas for years and didn't know it was here. Very nice place. Fried chicken was awesome. Very friendly service. Nice spin on “stick to your ribs” food. Will be back. Thanks!!

We generally like the place. The music was great and our server was very nice. . . BUT...the food was "meh,' and totally overpriced! $23.00 for a pot roast served in a teeny, tiny skillet!!! Even the pricier restaurants give you a better portion for the money than that! Chicken bites were good. We each had a glass of wine...$9.00 a glass and the small size wine glass was not even half-way filled. That was a rip-off. I don't mind paying for a glass of wine but it wasn't an expensive wine, so $9.00 a glass was overpriced to begin with and jipping you on the amount poured.. well let's just say we didn't sit and have another, so when places pull that, it makes us spend less money. Will choose to go elsewhere next time. Would only go back to hear a favorite band and won't order much.

It's the second time I tried it and I still didn't like it. The meal was extremely salty and the food was rushed. Not super hospitable. Normally it's a least 10 minutes between appetizers and entrees. This was under 5 minutes. I got a smoked wings and their special (Mac and cheese and boar), wings themselves were good but the sauce (hot honey garlic) wasn't garlicky, hot with the tiniest amount of honey, mostly resembled a mustard. My salad came out last, I ordered steak medium rare and it was pretty much raw, which isn't a huge deal because I like it rarer than most but definitely didn't reach Temp over 100, period. Additionally, no knives were given out. My girlfriend has ribs and pretzel app. The preztel came with a cheese sauce in where the sauce was gritty (probably broken from too much heat) and the pretzels were like sweet whole grain, which isn't a deal breaker but not listed as such, and kind of made it pair oddly. The ribs were super smokey, which is kudos, and sauce was thin and honey like... the side of slaw was atrocious, the slaw had so much pepper you couldn't taste anything else and it was poorly dressed. The cornbread wa tasty and crispy but needed a side of butter or something to help with some of thr dryness that comes with cornbread in general.I'm all for different kind of food, but this was off its mark, I was disappointed.
