As buffets tend to be, some things good and others not so good. The fried chicken was very good. So were the lima beans and corn. The apple and peach cobblers were ok. They had soft serve ice cream which we did not try. Overall a good experience. Also, one of the staff broke out into singing a gospel song and she was pretty good. Well received by the patrons having dinner. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Nothing special, just solidly good. Some of the offerings on the buffet could've been warmer, but hey...it's a buffet. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The quality and variety of the food made the low price a great value for me. I recommend.
The food was just ok. Nothing like what we expected. Staff was friendly. We were even warned that a huge group was coming in, if we wanted more food to get up and get it before they came in.
Used to be way better! We've been regular customers for over 10 years, every time we visit the beach we make sure to eat here. Tonight our party of 10 was told that the 2 teens in our group who dislike southern food/buffets, would not be allowed inside if they weren't eating. While I understand this policy and I'm sure there are people who pay for 1 and then feed their kids off their plate, this was not the case. If they had been packed, and half our party chose not to eat, I'd also understand but again, not the case. The restaurant was basically empty and we brought 8 "paying customers". We were even asked "can't they wait on the porch while you eat?" UM. NO MA'AM. I will not leave my kids on the porch like yard dogs while the rest of the family eats. Ridiculous suggestion. It was very easy to see that the teens weren't picking off anyone's plate, they just wanted to sit and visit with their family on vacation. Restaurant needs to rethink this policy, and if they intend to keep it, they need to approach it and advertise it more efficiently. No signage anywhere stating the policy so it was left to the hostess to enforce. The food has gone down in quality as well. They need to bring back Isaac and some southern hospitality.
This is a buffet filled with all the southern staples. Several meats, tons of sides, plus desserts and ice cream. The food was tasty and workers were very friendly. They do offer a local discount too!
Buffet dining. The food is simple, yet very delicious and flavorful. This is definitely on my list to go back whenever I am in the area. The busboy is amazing and has a godly talent. He should be in one of those singing competitions.
Extremely busy when we arrived around 5. Food was good, but there were some cold spots in it. We got lucky, but make sure everyone in your party is actually going to eat or you’ll be paying for them anyway. Would definitely go back.
Went for late lunch. Great selection of southern favorites: fried chicken, fried catfish, pulled pork, chicken bog, sweet potatoes, cobbler and more. Casual place and nice staff. Great place for families.

If you want a buffet with southern food and a price that is affordable for your pocketbook this is the place to eat. So good we went there twice while on vacation. A great variety of food, chicken, Mac n cheese, pulled pork, rice and beans, cornbread, sweet potatoes, ribs, banana pudding, cobbler, and so many more items. Every item tasted great with my favorite being the fried chicken, cornbread and pudding. The entire staff was friendly and we had the best waitress, she also sings randomly for the entire restaurant. What a beautiful voice! If there is a wait don’t leave, it will be worth it.
Everything was great food and staff Simply Southern is my go to place now everytime I go to South Carolina
We stumble onto this restaurant and were VERY pleasantly surprised. All of the food was cooked perfectly (not cooked to death!) and well-seasoned. Very good variety of authentic southern food. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. The lunch buffet is probably the best value in Myrtle Beach!
Best buffet! Great food! Friendly service!! Favorite restaurant in South Carolina for sure!! Thank you!
We went as a multi generational family. My husband 70 myself later 50’s , my granddaughter in her twenty’s and her 3 young toddler children under 6. When we walked in we followed a huge line of people to the serving area it a dinner rush. The line snaked from tables through pop stand to food. An attendant chased us down and acted like we tried to get in without paying! She informed us we were supposed to pay before entering line. Ok no signage directing us! Second you have to find a table during this crazy time, get your drinks , silverware and condiments by pop station that has the huge line of people afraid your cutting!! Now we get to serving area and very small plates and condiments bowls are available and my daughters trying to feed toddlers without having to go to back of the line again to feed us or leave them alone. We asked a worker if there was help available and she said she could give us 2 trays that did help. The whole set up was very uncoordinated and created problems! The ice cream machine was by the pop station as well! The food ran out, the ice ran out, and it was refilled but with time! I wanted to try the ribs but never found them because they were labeled pork chops?? My grandchildren were playing with gum ball machines while we were in line and a black man with dreads working there scolded them? The food was priced reasonable and had some wonderful hits and miserable losses. The coleslaw was my favorite, the pasta salad a gummy mess! The fried chicken first piece I had was so moist yet crispy on the outside and the second tray we waited on when they ran out can hard and dry?? The pulled pork was ok nothing to write home about and the ribs my husband had looked frozen and reheated. The sweet potato casserole was very good , and the peach cobbler was edible but doughy, the mashed potatoes were good but very runny probably because the were on a steam table to keep moist. I wouldn’t go back even though the price point was good. My biggest reason is because it was too chaotic and some staff were rude while others were wonderful. I would do a take out!
