We had a great experience, there was plenty of gluten free options and the menu was clearly marked.
What a cute place! And with adoptable kitties to visit ( not to hold and play with). It's run completely by volunteers and all the proceeds go to PALS( a nonprofit pet rescue). The food isn't fussy but really yummy. The decor is an eclectic and cute. I love their paninis. Make sure to visit and support this great cause!
I absolutely love this little gem! The food is so fresh and delicious and the service is always stellar! And being a cat lover, the decor is purr-fectly appropriate!
Quaint, casual dining with exceptionally friendly staff and excellent service. The paninis and soups were delicious. Knowing the proceeds went to support cats was a definite bonus. It was a lovely experience.
I liked that much of their breakfast menu was vegan or could be made vegan. I opted for the pancakes with vegan butter and maple syrup (upcharge for the maple syrup but not the vegan butter). I also got a side of tempeh bacon. The tempeh bacon was the only disappointment, but that might just be due to it being tempeh. It was thick and soft, not very bacon like. The pancakes were fabulous however. Thick and fluffy, 2 plate-sized pancakes and I ate almost all of it. Next time I'll try the vegan breakfast burrito or vegan banana French toast. The parking lot is very small. However there is a small side street nearby (next to the coffee shop and dentist office) where you can park as well. Proceeds benefit PALS and the waitstaff are volunteers. They did an excellent job! Our server checked on us often.
wow, what a delicious lunch we had! we got a panini and the chicken salad sandwich and i didn’t want to waste a single bite. friendly and helpful volunteers serve the place, and it’s very quaint and clean around the cute dining room. great find!
So good. Best mushroom soup ever. Sandwiches relish.
First off there were kittens which made my whole morning!
There were ample gluten-free menu options. I got the Garfield sampler gluten-free and everything was delicious. The staff is incredible. Very kind. I'm just passing through the area, but finding this place was a huge win!
My friend and I had a very nice time on our visit. The atmosphere is casual and the afternoon/evening we dined there was not crowded. The food was very good. The French Onion grilled cheese had just the right amount of Swiss cheese and grilled onions on sourdough bread. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich, which was also fresh and plentiful. Both entrees came with potato chips and a small side of potato salad. There were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu as well. Things to keep in mind include that it is busier for breakfast, which is served until 2 pm and that there really aren't dinner entrees on the menu. It's mostly soups, salads, sandwiches, and a quiche offering so be prepared for this.
And let's not forget the adorable kittens available for adoption. They are not loose in the restaurant but you can pet them in their cages.
Service was a bit slow with the waitress being new but once we ordered, our food didn't take long to arrive.
Overall, it was a good place for breakfast/brunch/ or lunch but there are no real dinner options. All proceeds also support the cats care and adoptions.
Cute little cafe to get a meal and look at some kitties. I got a breakfast burrito and asked for no bell peppers but after eating a burrito and picking out the bell peppers. The waitress offered a discount on my burrito for the mistake. It was a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

I honestly cannot rate The Black Cat Cafe...as my reservation was cancelled by them. I was called to say we have cancelled your reservation because we are closed to outsiders that day. They were not supposed to be taking reservations but they had anyway. No offer of a rebooking no nothing. This was supposed to be an outing with three families...coordinating schedules was not easy. I am still looking for a cat cafe outing for these families, but now I am not sure where we will be going.
Loved the dietary options. Nice place for a vegan or someone who needs gluten free. Kitties were a bonus.
Very enjoyable experience!! Enjoyed by all. 7 adorable kittens to fuss over made everyone happy😁
Great food and comfortable seating. My wife loves to visit with the cats in the entry portion of the business (separate from the dining area).
Great fresh food. Pancakes, veggie panini and chicken salad are my favorites. Eat here regularly for the wonderful food and to support the cat rescue.
