A volunteer 501C3 restaurant in which all the proceeds go to a cat rescue/adoption program. The menu clearly shows vegan options but there was confusion on their behalf on what this meant. After speaking with the chefs we were confident everything we ordered was plant based. Updated from previous review on 2026-02-07
At first we did have to wait around 10 minutes to be attended. Food could be a bit better, since one of our sides turned out to be cold. However, the place was very clean and neat. I adored the cat decorations of this place!
Great non profit restaurant that funds a cat shelter. They have several vegan options. I enjoy the Garfield Vegan Sampler for brunch.

I love Black Cat Cafe so much!!! I have been going here for years and most recently I was waited on by Tom, who was such a kind, amazing person! He recommended I get dessert after my meal, which was chocolate cake and WOW!!! It was delicious! Tom was such a fun person to talk to! And of course, shout out to the cats!! Meow!

We had a great experience, there was plenty of gluten free options and the menu was clearly marked.
Lovely cafe with a good cause behind it. Proceeds support the kitties well being and adopion. The staff works for free so tip heavily. I had a delicious egg white omelet.

Amazing experience, took my girlfriend for her birthday and the server Tom was just as friendly as they come. I got the grilled cheese and soup combo which was very tasty, my girlfriend seemed to love her tuna sandwich and chips!
Tom also sold me on some carrot cake. Most of the employees are volunteering and I couldn't recommend this place more

What a cute place! And with adoptable kitties to visit ( not to hold and play with). It's run completely by volunteers and all the proceeds go to PALS( a nonprofit pet rescue). The food isn't fussy but really yummy. The decor is an eclectic and cute. I love their paninis. Make sure to visit and support this great cause!

Hopefully just caught them on a bad day. I feel bad writing such a bad review for a place that is cute and gives proceeds to a local animal shelter, but the experience was truly terrible. All of the wait staff are volunteers and they were very pleasant, but the manager/owner? was shouting and complaining about her volunteers from the kitchen the whole time we were eating. The dining room is small so all of the guests were awkwardly looking around at one another while this woman teed off on the volunteers and threatened to shut down the restaurant for the day
The atmosphere felt very homey and welcoming. The food tasted fresh and the portions were generous. We enjoyed seeing the kitties and all of the related trinkets. Loved it and highly recommend visiting!

I absolutely love this little gem! The food is so fresh and delicious and the service is always stellar! And being a cat lover, the decor is purr-fectly appropriate!
Took my kids here as a Saturday morning treat for brunch. Our family owns three cats so we thought it would be fun. The kittens up for adoption were all sleeping snug in their beds. We were greeted warmly by the hosts and had reserved an open table (said next time to just call since they were a small business and nonprofit this costs them). The waiter very good and the food was delicious! Only wish the cats were able to roam free and pet them!
