I had spaghetti Bolognese (meat sauce) and added meatballs to it. There was zero meat in the sauce. The meatballs were small and tasted like they came frozen from the grocery store — stiff and tasteless like cardboard.
My date had a pasta dish with a cream sauce and “ sausage and mushroom”. It had neither of the two. It was essentially mac & cheese with a little parsley on top. Tasted no different than a frozen Stouffer’s dish. Only good thing was the spaghetti itself. I would give the food 2 / 10, do NOT recommend, totally fake Italian restaurant.
Honest review. I had eaten here years ago and it was amazing!
I went here today with a good friend expecting to experience a near Italy like experience.
Well….. I walked in and was not greeted. I had to look for someone to be seated. The place was dead. That should have been a dead giveaway.
I was finally seated and waiting for my friend not offered water.
When my friend arrived the waitress asked if we wanted to hear the specials. Um, of course? Also it was Sunday at noon. They advertise brunch. We were not given brunch menus.
The waitress recited the specials and never looked at us. It was very awkward.
We ordered the carpaccio, Parmesan plate and Parma pizza.
We got: a plate of Parma cubes that look like they came from Wegmans with shredded carrots and butters we think… and 2 dinner rolls
A pizza with no prosciutto that was chewy and tasted frozen.
When we got the bill, we were charged for the Parma pizza when we received a frozen margarita. I had pointed that out to our server.
She asked if I wanted the price adjusted?
No lie!
Yes! I’m not paying for something I did not receive!
As a couple was about to enter the restaurant we motioned to them DO NOT DO IT!
They thank us!
I advise you, Do not do it!
So first off the place was fine. Our waitress was ok. when we ordered our appetizer, it came out pretty fast. but when we got to ordering our actual meal, it took very very long. That’s when things started to go downhill. I got spaghetti bolognese and it was pretty good but it was supposed to have meat and it had absolutely none. My mom on the other hand ordered a mushroom personal pizza and when it came out it had literally basically no mushrooms on it. All it had was a bit sprinkled on the side of just one slice. My mom asked the waitress if it has more mushrooms on it and she said that it would be under the cheese. When the waitress went away my mom lifted the cheese off the pizza and there were no mushrooms at all. All it had was some undercooked pizza dough and mozzarella cheese. I had a bite of her pizza and can confirm that it was pretty undercooked. And lastly my dad ordered a lasagna and same story it had no meat in it. Just a tiny bit of it sprinkled on the top. Overall this place was very mediocre to say the least. I would not come back here.
If I could give zero stars I would. The waiter service was slow. We waited 30 min for the waiter to come back after the appetizer was delivered to get a drink refill. The table was so small that we had to put our water glasses and condiments on the window ledge. The waiter brought the main course but never cleared the plates from the appetizer so there was no room for the dinner plates. The waiter tried handing me my hot dinner plate because there was no room on the table as if I should put my dinner plate on my lap. I asked for the manager and the waiter said he was the manager. I asked for the owner. The owner Raouf came to my table with the waiter and wanted me to talk to him with the waiter standing there in an attempt to bully my wife and I. I told him that wasn't professional and he put his hand on my shoulder and told me he has been in business for 35 years so if I didn't like it I could leave. On my way out, I told the owner what the waiter did and and he laughed along with the dishwasher that was standing with him.The food is tasteless and overpriced, the wait staff is incompetent and the owner is an unprofessional bully. Do what I didn't do and compare Paganni's reviews with the others on Restaurant Row first before wasting your money.
People are saying stuff about how the wait time is so long to get the food. IT'S CUZ THEY MAKE IT FRESH. It was very, VERY good food. IDC IF MY BREAD DIDN'T COME WITH BUTTER, IT'S COMPLEMENTARY!!! THE FOOD IS ALL THAT MATTERS AND THE FOOD IS GREAT.
Food took forever to come out. Asparagus and pasta was $26.00??? ( Was a special so we didn't know the price). Nothing special. Overkill on the garlic. Ran out of water and took forever to get more. Not impressed. Too many other good places in Doylestown to ever go back.
Stopped in for the first time this evening. We were greeted and sat quickly and the waitress was nice and introduced herself and the server she was training and even complimented me, she was sweet. We ordered our drinks and then watched the servers proceed to go bus an empty table and pack up a to go order before bringing us our drinks. We then ordered an appetizer and my fiance and I ordered our entrees. 20 minutes go by and no appetizer. The servers clearly feel bad about this and apologize for the wait and being us a basket of 2 dinner rolls. Another five minutes go by and the servers bring out my fiances entree. They tell me mine will be right out. My fiance finished the majority of his entree before the servers even checked back up and asked ME if my food was brought out! They go to check on it and told me it’ll be done shortly. I let them know I never even got my appetizer I ordered and they look confused and go to check on it. At this point I still don’t have my entree and don’t care about the appetizer. They come back and let me know there’s a mix up in the kitchen and asked if I still wanted it. I said no and they go back to check on my food. By the time they bring out my pasta my fiance has completely finished his meal and now has to wait for me to eat mine. The servers didn’t even come back until I was done and then asked if we wanted the dessert menu. The entire experience was hugely disappointing and not at all worth it. I will not be recommending this place despite the quaint atmosphere and tasty food. From the time we were sat until we left, this establishment leaves much to be desired in terms of service on every front.
If you want homemade pasta this is the place to go! The pasta carbonara is definitely my favorite! Paganini and Pags Pub across the street are Doylestown treasures. Highly recommend both.
I wish I could give zero stars. The service is absolutely horrendous. We’ve been here for two hours waiting for our entree’son a very quiet night and then they bring the wrong entree!!! Ambiance is amazing and yes the food is good, but two hours to wait for an entree good, unmmmm no! Epic failure on their part. How do they even stay in business?
Served meat when asked for veg options. Demanded 20% tip.

Off the bat we were greeted by seemingly the owner or manager of the restaurant. Then, sat by one of the waitresses in an area with a handful of other tables in close proximity, strange considering the entirety of the other seats were open beneath our section. Then we were asked our drink orders by 2 or 3 different, but all somehow equally monotone individuals within a span of 5 minutes. Once we decided we placed our order with the man who seemingly was the owner/manager although we thought our waitress was the individual who sat us. Our food all came out correctly and it was evident the ingredients were fresh, but it was displayed much like a preschooler playing with their dinner. Although presentation was not there, food still tasted rather good. Upon receiving my check from seemingly the buss boy, I asked him where my tip would be going since so many individuals helped me tonight. His response was “If you want to tip him *points to owner/manager* I’ll go give it to him.”, this was not my intention as my plan was to only tip those working for them. Reading some other reviews I believe this restaurant has a serious ownership/management issue that is unfortunately getting in the way of their few bright spots (fresh food, location, ambiance). It is unbelievable to me that an owner would dip into his own employee’s tip jar, let alone when they’re high school aged. The restaurant is also littered with HELP WANTED signs, but from what it seems the best thing they could do for it is throw up a FOR SALE sign.

I feel bad writing a bad review as this is the first time I have ever done so. I went to this place in early 2023 and remembered it being so good, so when my friends and I were looking for a spot to catch up on Thanksgiving eve in Doylestown I thought this would be perfect. We were sat in a really awkward table next to the staircase. Our initial waiter was a nice young guy but he was soon replaced by an older gentleman who was pretty monotone. When we got bread rolls, I asked for butter, and he was just like "what, you don't like olive oil?" I didn't realize there was olive oil on the table but he could have pointed it out when dropping off the bread or just said yes when I asked for butter and said "and just so you know, you also have olive oil right here." It was awkward and I felt like I had to apologize for asking for butter. When he took our order he wrote nothing down, which I know more experienced servers feel like they can get away with but in this case he obviously needed to. He had to come back to double check what apps we asked for. For my main course, I asked for vegetarian lasagne and I may have annoyingly repeated that I wanted the vegetarian lasagne, but I am a vegetarian and as he wasn't writing anything down and just repeated back to me "lasagne" I wanted to make sure he got it right. He jokingly said "ok, the meat lasagne" and laughed, so I laughed back. Well lo and behold, the meat lasagne came out. When I asked to change it he said it would be 25 minutes, and asked if I wanted something else instead so I reluctantly ordered the rigatoni w/ cheese, but was afraid it would basically be mac n cheese so I asked if they could add mushrooms. It still took at least 25 minutes to come out so I might as well have waited for the veggie lasagne and it was basically mac n cheese with the measliest portion of barely cooked mushrooms on top. He never asked if we wanted parmesan cheese or anything either. The chicken on my friend's chicken pasta was inedible and my friend's swordfish was not good. We didn't want to be annoying so we didn't ask for anything comped but he never even offered to comp anything, despite the mistakes and the waiting for my meal. We were excited to finally leave and I felt the need to apologize to my friends for choosing this place, and honestly I probably won't be back.

It’s such a cute little homey feeling place. The aesthetic of the restaurant is super comfortable however that’s about all I can say about it. With the service, the employees are super friendly but our food took a long while to come out and our orders were incorrect as well. We went on a Monday so maybe they were a tad bit understaffed but nonetheless our orders were incorrect and took a long time to come out. The pasta is definitely homemade and not from a box. I love that. But the taste is mediocre. It isn’t a place I would come back to but also not terrible. The food is simply okay. Not amazing, not bad, just alright. We ordered the chicken, the artichoke pasta, the beet pasta, the chocolate cake, and the tiramisu. I do not recommend the desserts. It’s super small and the chocolate cake (labeled as gluten free mousse) is just a dense bar of fudge. The tiramisu is also nothing special. It’s a cute place to sit and relax for a bit but at the end of the day, nothing special.

I usually only write positive reviews, but this time I am writing this one in hope that this place gets better. The service is fine, young friendly staff. The inside of this restaurant is beautiful and unique, and very clean. The outside atmosphere has so much potential, by cleaning it up, have the water fountain work or on, and pay attention to the details Unfortunately, the food is your major failure. My boyfriend and I ordered appetizers, and main courses and didn't enjoy one thing. Really, focus on the food, the taste and the presentation. It looks bad and it taste bad. This restaurant has so much potential to be one of the best spots in Doylestown. I really hope something is done.
