Recently, I was in Doylestown, PA for the very first time. I had driven two hours through the snow, uphill both ways, to make some holiday magic by picking up a doo-dad that was at the top of my kid’s list—something I couldn’t find any closer to my home base. After accomplishing my mission, I did the old “food near me” search on Google. The usual fast-food spots populated the list, but I kept scrolling—and holy cow, am I glad I did. I saw that Steaks on State was seven minutes away and zipped right over.
It was so good. I got the cheesesteak on a seedless roll and fries.
I almost didn’t get the fries because it said something like “a pound of fries.” I thought, “Who would ever need a pound of fries?” And as it turned out, it was me. I was the one who needed—and eventually ate—the entire pound of crispy, delicious fries.
The sandwich was also unbelievably good. Like… so very good.
I’m not saying I’ve already started planning a family trip to Doylestown just to get another sandwich—but I will say that a quarter of the way home, I wondered why I hadn’t bought an extra sandwich. A concept that had never occurred to me until that moment.
I definitely hope I can go back and eat there again sooner rather than later.

Best damn food in the area! My partner and I stopped in for lunch during work we try to try different places to eat if we go to certain spots. We work in ems. We both got the Viking I got the Viking meal combo and I must say they have the best fry’s ever hands down, and the Viking the meat to bread ratio was super perfect and super tasty. You definitely have to stop in and try their food! The 2 gentleman were super cool and friendly, awesome customer service and polite. Highly highly recommend!!!!!

Had an amazing cheesesteak this evening at S.O.S.. The new thinly shaved cut of steak went brilliantly with Cooper Sharp and seeded roll Portion size was excellent and the service of Jackie, Mandy and Owen was top-notch. Highly recommend giving them a try. Hoagies, Fries, and the salads on the menu are delicious as well.

Best cheesesteaks currently on the east coast. Prove me wrong. Absolutely LOVE this place! Not only do they follow all of the current trends for best cheesesteak - seeded roll, Cooper's sharp, etc. - they put it over the top with attention to extremely fresh ingredients (I can tell) and a beautifully clean and cool space to enjoy it in.

Can't say enough good things! The cheesesteak was absolutely incredible. Usually they're under seasoned, not enough cheese and need ketchup or mayo to make it taste better. Not here! The steak was freshly made in front of me, just the right amount of cooper cheese, the seeded roll was super fresh and the portion size was perfect! 5/5 would absolutely recommend anytime you want a real cheesesteak!

It’s been about a year since John and his wife Jackie opened, and from day one, the quality has been absolutely top-notch. Their cheesesteaks are my personal favorite — always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. John and Jackie are incredibly welcoming, and their customer service is second to none. Highly recommend this place overall — easily one of the best around!

We had Steaks on State delivered as After Party food to our wedding! It was SUCH A HIT - *everyone* loved it!!!! Working with Jackie was so easy, we were able to get exactly what we needed for our group. The steaks came freshly made, as delicious as always, and right on time. We also got some tenders, fries, and all the fixings! I couldn’t recommend this more as the end to a Philly wedding (esp if you have out of towners, you can’t let them leave without a steak!!) Could not recommend more!
