Our first time there! We sat at the bar on a Saturday night! The place was superpacked! Christian, our bartender was the best! The best! So attentive and service was on point! And even though it was extremely busy he still found time to chat up these new customers! We'll be back soon!

It was bustling with noise but that's their ambience. The servers were pretty attentive and we are good tippers, so never had issues.Food was clean for gluten free options.SERVERS GET 10 STARS from me as they have a difficult job.I unknowingly ordered a Italian dish and found pork in it and religiously it was difficult for me as I found that this was a non kosher restaurant.So religious people wanting a kosher kitchen may want to reconsider.

Cool atmosphere and great menu. We were seated in the back party room which is why I think our service was so incredibly slow. We weren't in a hurry but 2.25 hours is a looooong dinner. Place wasn't even full so there is no excuse for the slow service. Octopus was delicious and so was the striped bass with really good crispy skin. And the garlic infused olive oil that finally came out with our bread was really really good. I had the Bucks County Mule which was also good and my partner had the Blueberry Crisp for dessert which he very quicky devoured. They were pretty good with my dairy allergy but my sorbet came out with a biscotti that I'm sure wasnt dairy free. We'll be back and give them another try.

So this was our third visit last night. We are locals and the atmosphere is nice. Prices are in line. The first visit it took forever to get our meals. Second visit we sat at the bar and service and timing was good. Last night not so much. We ordered an appetizer, 2 salads and 2 entrees. App came out promptly. It went down hill from there. 30 minutes after we finished our app we had to ASK where our salads were. Once they cleared our salad plates it became obvious there was a problem. Entrees took another 40 minutes and the manager noticed and came over and apologized. There is definitely something wrong in the kitchen. Probably won’t go back.

Feb 20th 7:30, we had our dinner appointment at Vela. Everything was great up until the end when the tip was given. The waiter wasn’t happy with what I gave him and so he decided to come back to the table all pissed off and made the whole situation awkward and embarrassing for us. It was like he had a complete change of character. Needless to say we walked out of the restaurant kinda speechless and shocked. Didn’t expect this kind of behavior from a restaurant like this! To make the whole situation right, I apologized to him and called him back as he was walking away and gave him the “% tip” he was expecting. Anyways, hopefully someone responsible will see this and educate these guys so that experiences like these won’t happen to anyone else.

What a shame - nice place and food was decent but waiter was apathetic and rude. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks and the six entrees for our party came out an hour later, one at a time over 20 minutes. We asked our waiter if they had cappuccino and he responded yes and then walked away. When leaving, we politely gave the owner this feedback but he didn't care at all, responding "we should do better". Needless to say, we will not be returning.

All I can say is that the plates of food brought to our table looked good but nothing had any flavor . The pizzas were slabs of dough with sauce and cheese and no flavor . The steak was over cooked for rare and the portion size on the dollop of mash and literally 3 baby roasted carrots was made for the supermodel diet . The roasted chicken was fine ( needed salt ) but again size wise it was a very small portion. Not a inexpensive meal and we all left hungry .

The gnocchi were amazing! Octopus was not very tasty and overcooked. The spaghetti not good enough for an Italian (sorry I am picky).The chicken was good, not incredible but perfectly executed.I will come back to try the pizza as well. Let’s see if they can get the 5th star

Shay and Jason have made Vela our favorite bar in Doylestown! Great food and better drinks…especially espresso martinis!

Took our friends here for dinner. Drinks,food, atmosphere, and service were all wonderful. Great place in doylestown and has a parking lot. So there is no street parking to worry about.
While I enjoyed my dinner, my husband did not enjoy his. He enjoyed the meatball app last visit but said they were not the same as last. His dinner “was not something to write home about”, but as I said, I enjoyed mine, the fish special. What was not appealing was our waitress and her service. She was very abrupt and perhaps because we were only a table of two and not big drinkers, she couldn’t be bothered about us. I could go on, but I think that’s enough. Thought we had found a special place, but doubt if we’ll be anxious to return.
