It was ok - hoped for more. The location is super fun w the pub and wine next door, which was great bc we didn’t know it was byo. Very loud, but our table was in the middle of it all and it was a Saturday night. Was hoping for more from the food. :(
We absolutely adore Vernafern. From the first time we visited on a whim - doing a double order of their special of duck potsticker, to their never fail depiction roast chicken - Chef Justin always delivers inventive yet classic comfort food. We have dined for casual Tuesday nights, to special occasions, to farmers market breakfast Sandi’s, the entire staff has become, as cliche as it sounds, like family. Stopped in for the first time over the weekend for lunch and really enjoyed it. Sat at the bar/counter and was interesting to watch the chef making all the dishes.
The calamari was great and the chili-garlic marinara was really awesome. Ordered the crab cake app and it was also delicious.
Went again for lunch this week and tried the burger, also fantastic. Weird as it may sound, the pickle that came with the burger was probably the best one...
