This place makes some of my favorite black and white pudding! They have a small selection of imported teas, and snacks in the front along with Irish breads and meats.
The staff is always friendly, and the food is reminiscent of home cooked meals. I always make a point to take visiting friends here for breakfast.

We’ve been going here for almost eight years. The family that runs it knows how to cook Irish, Mexican and classic American diner fare, and it’s all excellent. A gem of a place.

Best Irish Breakfast outside of Ireland. Authentic sausage with eggs, potatoes, beans, and a tomato. I also sampled the fadge, farl, and wheaten from the Ulster fry..I love wheaten. Generous portions of comfort food.
The atmosphere is clean but like a small American dinette so that is why it is a 4 star. I went for the food, not the atmosphere so who cares. As long as it is clean which it was.

Today I was there for the first time and it has become my favorite place to have breakfast, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. I recommend the place 100%.

I can't understand why this place has such high ratings. The food is extremely sub-par, very underwhelming. And the inside of this restaurant is old, like a dive. The only really good thing I can say is that the employees are nice and the service is good. But if the food stinks, then does the service really matter?

The Hibernian Coffee shop is a hidden gem! It's our usual Sunday morning after church go to spot, and they far exceed expectations of Irish breakfast. The specials are truly special. Try them. It's the only place I know where my missus can have bangers and eggs while I have huevos rancheros, and both are equally spectacular.
Parking: There's a lot across the street with meters and a few spots out front. The meters are Monday to Saturday and Upper Darby usually gives a break on them during the holiday season. If not, there's free parking on Edmonds Ave.
Kid-friendliness: Andrea is a Mom of three. She understands kids and always seems to enjoy seeing kids coming into their restaurant. Pedro has always been very accommodating about weird things my daughter doesn't like or requests, and he tries to go the extra mile to make something that my daughter will enjoy.

Delicious food and fast, friendly service. A whole pot of tea with breakfast, which doesn’t seem like a big deal but was so nice as a heavy tea drinker.

Let’s start with the fact I asked for over-medium eggs and THEY MADE THEM CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. Just that part earned them the first three stars in my mind. This unlikely ethnic combo is a win! They had some UK items in there for good prices, I feel like there was a largely popular in Ireland. I tried Ulster Fry, the only part I wasn’t absolutely crazy about was fried potato bread because it was kind of multigrain. We’re on vacation for a family reunion and the fried potato bread reminded me of something ‘too healthy’ for vacation breakfast. Soda farl sounds weird but tastes fantastic lol. My brother got the breakfast burrito and had them add home fries inside. His wife had scrapple with eggs. Scrapple kind of tasted like a hybrid spam with crisp edges and the seasoning of a good stuffing mix. The chorizo blend in that burrito was excellent. Also, I tried black & white Irish pudding. I enjoyed them! We Googled some of the menu items to see what they were. Didn’t realize the pudding was like sausage patties basically. And Irish bacon was the flavor of Canadian bacon that was able to crisp like regular-degular pork bacon strips. It was delicious. I wish the regular Irish sausage were spicy or had a spicy variety. They tasted like a good quality hot dog. The regular coffee was top 3 of all time. And I have tried a lot of regular coffee in my lifetime so far. The other customers and staff were all friendly. Pleasant atmosphere with old downtown building charm. The art inside reminded me of any east coast family owned restaurant and the seating reminded me of a Subway restaurant. Overall - impressed and would eat here again.

Enjoyed an authentic full Irish breakfast. Small coffee shop with plenty of breakfast and lunch options and some tasty sounding specials. Looking forward to returning to try some other dishes. They also carry a good selection of sweets from the UK.
