Fat Mikey’s Cheese Steaks

The good: Friendly service. Fries were a little well done but tasty. Interior was fine. I’ve gotten takeout before from here for work, 10 or so cheesesteaks of different varieties, all made to perfection with special attention paid to topping requests.The bad: visited here very recently to purchase off of the Lanis grilled cheese menu. We got a couple classic grilled cheeses, they were fine. Bella sandwich with balsamic glaze intentionally drizzled all over the outside of the bread and none on the inside, weird. The Bella was otherwise unremarkable not being particularly a good or bad sandwich. I had the redneck grilled cheese sandwich. Bread was crispy and grilled like you would expect. The inside of sandwich consisted of cold pulled pork with somehow little flavor, a layer of macaroni and cheese which just looked like and tasted like plain cold macaroni, and was topped with multiple unmelted slices of cheddar cheese. I was hungry and ate half the sandwich hoping it would get better. I asked if it could be heated somehow to melt the cheese. It was handed back to me a couple minutes later in the same unmelted and cold condition I originally got it in. It went in the trash and I left. Never had a problem with a Lanis menu item at its original location down the street. Disappointing because Lanis was so very good when it was on its own. I’m sorry if you’ve read this far. Maybe I shouldn’t go to a cheese steak shop for a grilled cheese? Bad on me for that I guess. I love supporting local businesses and would prefer not to leave a bad review. I don’t know what the problem is but I hope they figure it out.

Ordered food through Hungry we deliver (Who are great!!) only to get a call that the cheese steak I ordered (that has fries on IT!), to tell me they have no fries!!! asked for onion rings as a substitute and they cannot make that decision cause they are not the owner. neither can they discount me due to not having the item!! unacceptable management!

The best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had. An order of cheese fries with bacon is large enough for 2 people to share. And they bring your food to your table when it's ready. A nice touch in terms of customer service.In a neighborhood with little parking but the restaurant was smart enough to add a small parking lot on the back side of the restaurant. There is also a door on the back side to enter.Tip jar on the counter; don't forget to bless it. Those guys deserve it.Sorry I forgot to take pics of the menu. Will update when I visit again. I travel from North Jersey to come here so; soon.

This was the best steak sandwich we have ever had. Been there twice and just as good second time. The place is very clean and all employees wash their hands often. Good prices too.

I love cheesesteak and never leave reviews. This place was the worst. Meat seemed bad by taste, Both myself and wife didn’t even have more than couple bites before throwing it out.

This is now our third and last time ordering, we all got OGs and fries. The bread on each one was like it was dunked in the sink it was so soggy, the meat had zero flavor and was mostly grizzle it’s almost like dollar store steakums, the cheese is not whiz it’s cheap canned beer cheese that’s been watered down too much which is probably why everything was so soggy and runny. And then there is the fries….I had no idea that fries could be so over cooked to the point they were almost black (a few actually were) but yet be completely limp and rubbery-it was at this moment I realized the styrofoam containers for all 4 orders were all hardened and melted which is why they were kind of stuck together aka thrown in the microwave to reheat old nasty fries.I figured 3 months later they might’ve gotten better but it seems like it’s just gotten worse. It’s a real shame because we really need somebody to step up and open up a decent csteak spot in this area aside from the overpriced mediocre spot on main. Based on all the other reviews I have two theory’s the good reviews are either food prepared by someone that actually cares and isn’t there all day( we’ve tried ordering early and late so I doubt it) or are all just friends of owner and the bad reviews are accurate. SAVE YOUR MONEY

As others have stated, I hate writing bad reviews especially for local places. The first few times the food was decent enough, good portion sizes. Unfortunately they're suffering from a lack of good employees. Every time I go, there is someone new working and each time they seem woefully unprepared.The current front person swiped my card and then said "Do you want to leave a tip?" I understand that the tablet software requires that question but the proper way to handle it is to turn the tablet around and let the customer handle the screen until the charge is done.After the awkward interaction, the food took a longer than usual time to come out. So, the customer is expected to tip before deciding how the service is?For the first time the meat was bland and had that water and meat flavor another reviewer pointed out. I ordered the Cavalier and the Fat Mikey. When I got home I found out the Cavalier was in a box that said "Fat Mikey" and the Fat Mikey was in the Cavalier box.Hopefully things turn around and they get some good employees who care about being there, especially when Philly's on main st exists.

This place has some of the best cheesesteaks in the area, easily. Never been disappointed by anything on their menu

Fat Mikeys Cheese Steaks. Their cheese steaks were big enough for my daughter and I to share. French fries also enough to share. There service was very quick. There sandwich’s however we’re very greasy. Slick in fact. Fell apart, and gave me heart burn. French fries severely undercooked and very greasy as well.

Very nice staff. Helps you with anything you need to know. They don’t have a attitude (like others). And the food was superb. Exceeds expectations. 5/5 would eat again.

Ordered a cheese steak but somehow a cheese steak place is out of cheese steaks wouldn’t even think to order from here again

Nice portion size. The sandwich was decent. Unfortunately, the fries disappointed. I hope that was a one time thing.

Cheesesteak size spot on. Meat was great. Got mine w/o onion and added mushrooms. Awesome. Gf got hers with onions terrible and unexcusable. Ridiculously huge pieces of onion. I mean one was so big it was like a quarter of a small onion. Next came the wiz. WTH was that. As a huge fan of cheesesteaks if you going to offer wiz put wiz on it. This was some beer cheese type of wiz. The taste was good but not what was promised or expecting. Let your customers know this upfront. Next came the fries. A greasy mess of undercooked potatoes. For 5 bucks for the large i expect them to be cooked all the way through. Had to throw them out. Should've checked before leaving.30 bucks for a so-so meal isn't going to cut it. I realize your new but figured you would be able to get these basic things right. Not sure if i will take the chance to eat their again as my first impression wasn't a good one.
