Ichiban Chinese & Sushi Restaurant

My wife and I went for lunch. Very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful and clean interior, great service, and delicious food. Ordered hot tea, two pork egg rolls, and orange chicken (dinner portion which was more than enough to share). Great spot!

Such a lovely spot! The staff and environment were very warm and welcoming, and the quality of our meal was excellent. We ordered the chicken tonkotsu ramen and it was prepared perfectly- the chicken was closer to sautéed than boiled (so no rubbery texture!) and the broth was rich and packed with umami. Portions were hearty and worth the price. This is one of those dishes that could please both the pickiest of eaters and the most avid foodies. Can’t wait to visit again!

I arrived and the food ended up being extremely bland. I ended up having a ramen which didn’t have any redeeming qualities to it. The broth was salty, the noodles were bland and overall very unpleasant.

I came in with a party of 5 but only 4 people ordered and they still charged us an additional service fee of 18% (aside from credit card fee, tax, and tip) which we were not disclosed of prior to being seated. Had we known, we wouldn’t have ate there.

I’d give 0 stars if I could, no transparency, waiters were odd and the price was not worth it.

Ichiban used to be the gem in this area for chinese food and sushi. Although the restaurant is still nice to sit in, the food is just ok. Boneless ribs were dry and just shy of burned. Fried rice on the other hand was under done and not well seasoned. Sushi rolls have gotten rice heavy even though the over all flavor is still good. The tri color rols dont have nearly as much roe. Been going here for over 15 years so have seen the slow slide into mediocrity.

I thought the food was good, prices are normal. The daily lunch specials are 9.99 with about 30 choices. They have an extensive menu, serve cocktails beer and wine, selections are Thai, sushi, dim sum etc. I'm from FL and the area I lived in didn't have regular sit down Asian/Chinese restaurants it was all fast food take out. It was so nice to be able to have good food in a decent restaurant with a server. By the way their egg rolls are big , crispy and delicious. I'll be back.

Service was attentive, portions were appropriate; however, I did have an issue that the hibachi grill was covered with wood and as described by the working staff is never open and something they don't offer, but the franchise has the name and the facilities...however, the local owner has chosen not to make it a meal option..
Add the hibachi to hibachi steakhouse, and I would have given five stars, with a little caveat about the sashimi .
I've been to the other location in the area and essentially had the same sushi and sashimi experience so maybe it was just the one sashimi that was a little bit different all of the times I've been very satisfied with the food, and I could recommend with confidence that you give it a try I think you'll be happy .

Jumped in the car for a ride one night 2 toddlers and teenagers. Spontaneously thought how tasty it would be for fried ice cream. Realizing the babies didn’t have shoes on we called to ask if fried ice cream could be taken out. The customer service attendant was very considerate and offer to wait 10 min to give us time to get there and so it would be as fresh as possible and not melted. Right before closing and still ready and willing to serve a quick easy order! This was really appreciated!Thank you.

Nore than once i have tried to eat here because it is local and they will stop serving almost an hour before close.the takeout is okayz but when I did dine-in the last time the entres came out staggerd, so my kid had to watch me eat for 5 minutes and we couldnt get refils for our water.

The other restaurant is far better. The man upfront has such a terrible attitude and is always there. I went to order and he was on his phone with headphones in. I said excuse me twice with no answer and ended up having to knock on the window. He gave me a dirty look and was rude. Never coming back.

I gotta say, the outside of this restaurant was very unappealing. I think they would do so much better if they dressed up the outside better.

Once inside........wow! It was really nice. You wouldn't expect it from what the outside looked like. Truly, and hidden gem.

The staff were great and the food was amazing. The ramen was so good!! I can't wait to go back.

My girlfriend and I came to visit PA for the weekend and we were excited to stumble upon this hidden gem! Everything was delicious from the roast pork fried rice, to the chicken broccoli, sushi, ramen, and even their house salad with a side of their very own dressing. Very affordable and minimal wait time. I wish we could’ve taken this restaurant back to New York.

A rare gem in the Poconos once you get past the exterior. Lovely ambiance with tables or booths under a giant fishing boat/net and next to a large aquarium. The dinner boxes were around $22 and included soup, salad, California roll, sweet and sour chicken, white rice and your main entree. We enjoyed the shrimp and broccoli, sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. The quantity was great for an adult but too much for the kids. We also enjoyed the triple sushi. The service was great, and while not fast, it kept coming at a nice pace. We will definitely return.

Place was very clean and had a very nice atmosphere. Waiter was super helpful, kind, and respectful. Food was very good and didn’t have to wait very long for it. Would definitely go again.
