Have been coming here for 40 years. Local establishment that has served the community for twice that long. Food is reliably good, waitstaff prompt and friendly. Good music. Pizza is a local favorite. Always a good time.
I had my 1st date with a wonderful woman here recently. The atmosphere was fantastic even though it was cold outside. Nice wood stove keeping us warm in the tiki bar. And our date went very well. I believe I met the woman of my dreams!!! So I'll ALWAYS remember Petrizzo's!!!

Walked in, empty inside. Was told by another customer (leaving) I had to go to the patio to be seatedā¦okā¦went out and was seated quickly. They have free chickens roaming about the patio with the food and customersā¦interesting. Took forever for someone to ask us for drink orders. We all said water. Took forever to get drinks. They brought us out bottled water and cups of iceā¦weird. But I thought it was the patio, maybe bc it was the patio, they had to serve water a certain way. Waited another 20 mins for our order to be taken. Waitress couldnāt tell us price of any toppings added to a plain cheese āuntil they were rang up in the register.ā Whatever. Took THIRTY MINUTES for ONE cheese and sausage personal pizza!! While we waited, no one asked if we were still doing ok. My father got bumped into by a waitress, who looked back as she did it so she knew she bumped him. Didnāt acknowledge it at all, just kept walking. Got to hear the waitresses boss the host around saying āwe need this and thatā very rudely to the point if I were the host, Iād tell them to ask politely and maybe I would help them. The pizza came and omg it was TERRIBLE!!! There was no flavor. No seasoning. And it didnāt even seem done. Wasnāt cut properly so we had to cut it ourselves to get a piece out. The cheese and toppings just fell off the dough as you were picking it up. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I asked the waitress for the check and was told āI just took your order, Iām not your actual server.ā Okā¦so where has my āactual serverā been for this entire hour then??? She brought me the check bc she ādidnāt want me to wait anymoreā which was nice. THEY CHARGED ME $2 EACH BOTTLED WATER I DIDNT ASK FOR!!! They add 18% gratuity to every check, but still have an EXTRA tip āsuggestionā at the bottom. How many people (tourists/tipsy people) have fallen for THAT trap?! And they had a cash total or a higher credit card total. In my entire life, I have never given exact change as a tip. I literally counted out the exact change for the bill because they had already taken their 18% anyways. I feel that they gave bottled water to jack up the total bill which gives them a higher tip and then they can just provide terrible service and food and thereās nothing you can do about it because itās already added to your check. I didnāt even try and fight the $6 bottle water charges. I just wanted to escape. Never. Ever. Again. Do yourself a favor, TURN AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!
Stopped in for a bathroom break after a Porsche road rally. We were so impressed with the friendly staff (Maryann and Karen), we stayed for lunch. Great wings and burgers. Going to have to try their Italian next. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
Second review. Had the pleasure of stopping in again for lunch today. Some friends and I have made this a destination stop for our annual fall foliage run from central NJ. The service was again top shelf. The food was excellent. The prices are very reasonable, even with the tacked on gratuity. The only way I can attribute all the negative reviews of this restaurant is that they are left by a bunch of whiney, self entitled jerks. Don't believe them. I stand by everything I've said. Go and enjoy the food and friendly staff. Tell Maryann and Karen the Porsche guys sent you! Again, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon!! We'll be back!

If I could give no stars I would. To call it Italian American cuisine is an insult to Italians. No customers in a Friday evening should have been a hint I did not follow unfortunately.Not sure who is in the kitchen but the three dishes we took were awful. Crispy calamari were the smallest frozen pieces I ever saw made them 10 times bigger by the greasy excessive crumbs. Mussels were not fresh covered with unnecessary tomato sauce straight from the can and not blended in the dish. Same for the eggplant parmigiana. Eggplants were very thin slices made it 10 times bigger by the excessive tasteless sauce and cheese. to finish the check arrived with 3 added taxes including the tip and additional space for more tips to be added. If my wife didn't read the check I would have double tipped some undeserving restaurants that need to change whoever is in the kitchen, which is not a chef. Never again.
