How can you be open and serving a full restaurant and have no working bathrooms… I don’t even think that’s legal.

Ordered take out a few weeks ago. Two sushi rolls (dragon roll and spicy California) and an order green mussels. Everything was prepared to my liking. I love their green muscle appetizer. Dragon roll was delicious as was the spicy California roll. Quality is always the same. When I order from Tokyo diner they never disappoint. They will always be my go to for sushi in York.

Hibachi seemed good but if they are busy it's a grind because they only have one chef for their 4 tables. I had a Shrimp Tempura rolls and a Spider Roll. Each was easily the worst I have ever had. I saw food reviews for this place and they seemed to be generally good. It was a real disappointment. We might do hibachi pickup orders but not much else from here.

I asked for smoked salmon on the cooked sushi menu and got raw salmon, even asked to confirm if it was the smoked and they said yes. Cheesecake was frozen in the middle and my date got sick later that day after also having some of my sushi. Also very over priced.

I recently dined at Tokyo Diner with high hopes of enjoying an authentic and memorable Japanese culinary experience. Unfortunately, my visit was marred by the lackluster service and the complete absence of any guidance regarding the sushi menu. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted by a disinterested and unenthusiastic staff. No warm welcome, no friendly smiles, just a sense of indifference that permeated throughout my entire meal. The most egregious part of my visit, however, was the absence of any explanation about the types of sushi they offered. As someone who isn't well-versed in the intricacies of Japanese cuisine, I rely on the expertise of the restaurant staff to guide me through the menu. It's not unreasonable to expect the manager to take a moment to explain the different types of sushi available, especially for those unfamiliar with the vast variety of options. The menu itself was a bewildering array of Japanese names and ingredients that left me feeling lost and confused. I tried to ask for recommendations, but it was as though the manager and the servers had better things to do than educate their patrons. They provided no insight into the sushi options, didn't offer any suggestions based on my preferences, and didn't even ask if it was my first time dining there.I ended up randomly selecting a few items from the menu, and I have to say, I was not impressed. The sushi I received lacked the freshness and quality that one expects from a Japanese restaurant. Without any guidance on the menu, I was left to make uneducated choices, resulting in a disappointing dining experience. They left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. While the ambiance and decor were pleasant, the lack of service and guidance when it came to the sushi menu was a significant letdown. I hope they can improve their customer service and provide a more welcoming and informative experience for future patrons, as my visit fell far short of the Japanese culinary experience I had hoped for.Stay away from asking for help with the menu! Rude Manager..

We have been here a lot of times, and although there is another hibachi restaurant near us, we will drive the extra 15 minutes to eat here. The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly and kind.

I didn't know that this place existed, let alone, a full service hibachi grill. I didn't eat at the hibachi but did take out and the take out quality of the food is delicious. Prices are on par with the area and takeout of American Chinese and Japanese food. I would eat here again.
