I came here to celebrate a birthday with friends (we reserved in advance). They were so nice and accommodating. Our main waiter was Charlie. He was very attentive. We felt welcomed and not rushed at all.
The makkeoli (rice wine) was refreshing. For appetizers, we started with fried mandu (they were vegetarian). Standard dumplings, they were good. Then tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), which definitely had some kick to it (good for those who love spice).
Two friends had the braised pork bibimbap, one had the seafood dubu soup with noodles, and another had the mixed dubu soup. I totally forgot that my friends didn't know dubu meant tofu. One tends not to like tofu as much, but she said it tasted great with this particular soup. They also gave us side dishes, such as kimchi, salad with dressing, and a small fish for each person. I had the galbijjim, braised short ribs I think. Omg, it was sooooo good. I thought it would be spicy, but it was sweet and definitely not as spicy as the tteokbokki.
I brought cake and candles. They put the candles on the cake, lit them up, and sang the Happy Birthday song in Korean (like "생일 축하합니다").
I would come here again to try out other menu items for sure. 10/10. Highly recommend.

This place is the best Korean restaurant in Philadelphia. It's next to H mart, so it's a perfect place for Koreans to go grocery shopping, have a delicious meal, and then head back home. On this day, I had seafood pancakes, LA ribs, soft tofu, and seasoned crab, and they were all really delicious. The basic side dishes are served faithfully in Korean style, and the staff is very friendly. Although not pictured, my personal favorite menu item is ‘galbijjim’. The prices are very reasonable, and there is also a Korean-style karaoke room in the basement of the restaurant at a reasonable price, making it a great place to hang out after a meal. I am confident that even for those who live downtown, this is a Korean restaurant that is worth the Uber fare.

I want to recommend this restaurant to everyone. Here are some reasons --
1. Great location. This restaurant is next to H Mart so it is convenient.
2. Surprisingly good appetizers, including fried croakers and galbi ribs.
3. Large size. We ordered Gejang (marinated raw crab) and fried squid with tofu. The sizes are very satisfying.
4. Perfect service. We were told to wait for ~20 minutes and it was totally worth it. We did not finish the Gejang. The waiter packed the leftover for us and even provided an ice bag to preserve the flavor!

First time ordered to go. Second time, dined in. It wasn't busy at first but then the crowds started coming in. The servers were very attentive, all the staff were. Plenty of sidedishes were served, all very fresh.
Seafood pancake good but need more seafood SALT Restaurant next to Assi the best. The dubu hot seafood too spicy for my mother and she asked for least spicy. It needed more flavor, my mother makes the best!
Con:
Bathroom very dirty. It needs to be cleaned daily. There are enough staff hire a cleaner.

I’ve been going to Dubu since they opened in Cheltenham. It’s been one of my favorite restaurants for the past 10 years, and it’s definitely the best Korean restaurant in the Philly-area. The food is consistent and the service is always welcoming

The workers are friendly and attentive, checking up on me and my friends when they can. When I was there to celebrate a birthday they were really busy, but made sure we were alright and our food came out one by one on time. Love going there always.
