This place has great fried chicken but everything on the menu is excellent. It’s sort of got a casual fare vibe (and price!) with gourmet-quality food. A real gem. And it is local! The guy who founded the restaurant takes the orders, makes the food, serves it himself, and talks to the customers. Really worth making the trip.
This was my first time eating and Haven Local. We were looking for a late lunch and Creek Side market is like a mini–Reading Terminal Market, with a few eateries to choose from.
I am so glad we tried Haven Local - the food was truly outstanding. I ordered an omelette with veg and cheese. It was plated beautifully. I assumed I might need salt and/or hot sauce but Tam, the owner/chef, suggested I taste if first. It was perfect!

Their version of the fried chicken sandwich is unique and delicious. Incredible spice mix and a perfectly cooked chicken cut with the fixings and a soft potato bun. Worth the visit. As a bonus, a few feet away is a great offering of beers from the Cheshire Brewing Company.
