Our server was wonderful - very attentive and pleasant. Even brought us a miniature sample of “melon soup” to try, which was delicious.

All good but 2 steaks ordered med rare came well done. Gave us free desert to make up for it. We should have sent them back.

Dear Michael and Gertie Person, We would like to take the time to express our appreciation for our father's retirement dinner experience at the Ship Inn. We chose to hold our special event at your restaurant for the fine dining experience, great service, and spectacular food. This is why we were not surprised that your restaurant held up its wonderful reputation yet again for our family and our guests. The Rose Room was private and met our needs. Everyone had nothing but wonderful things to say about the service. Each individual entrée was delicious. Your servers (Carrie & Evelyn) also assisted our guests with elegance and speed as they took care of everyone's needs. Due to this outstanding presentation and service, we will continue to dine at the Ship Inn for special occasions and continue to recommend your restaurant to our family and friends. We are definitely glad we decided to hold our celebration at the Ship Inn and are hoping that you will stay in the area for many more years to come! A hug from us to all of you! With much gratitude, The Wyatt-Westbrook Family

It's a shame bc the place is beautiful. Lots of history and was well maintained. The drinks at the bar and kindness overall from the staff is good. The food - HORRIBLE. Lobster bisque soup. - not a drop of lobster for $15. Prime rib and fillet was ordered. Horrible. Cold. They heated it up but was rubbery when we got it back as it may have been microwaved.

swordfish served over a can of chickpeas and topped with some awful olive concoction. Who eats this stuff? No bread or rolls. They should offer selection of vegetables but don't. Flounder serving was way too small. We won't be back!

We get together with my husbands two sisters for lunch several times a year. This is our favorite place to come for Saturday lunch. The chicken salad is to die for!!!

We had another delicious meal! I had the surf and turf special and my husband had the crab cakes. Our waiter was very attentive.

A delightful surprise. The last time I dined here the experience was not very good. Friends encouraged us to give it another try. Glad we did. Our server, Dennis was attentive without being annoying. The food was good.

A friend and I were planning to meet for dinner in the area, and picked the Ship Inn. Despite the mixed reviews, there were a couple of items on the menu that looked interesting. So glad we took the chance. My friend had the Hungarian Filet Beef Tips and I had the Wiener Schnitzel, both accompanied by the spaetzli and mixed vegetables. Both of our mains were delicious and the spaetzli was exceptional. The green beans were fresh and prepared perfectly, with just the right amount of crunch. The carrots were a tiny bit overcooked, but still tasty. In a rare move for both of us, we ordered the warm chocolate cake for dessert, which we shared. We agreed that it absolutely made the meal, it was delicious! Our server Steve was also an important part of this memorable experience. He was absolutely professional and attentive, but also personable and conversational (without overstepping in to "chatty"). Terrific experience all around, I'll be back.

For Mothers Day my husband took me to this establishment. Let me start out by saying the Crab Cake was very good. I was looking forward to my Eggs Benedict with Maryland crab cakes. The description sounded great. With the Eggs, Hollandaise Crab Cake on an English muffin with sliced onion and avocado. My husband ordered the same as I did. Imagine my disappointment when our meal arrived the eggs were hard. As in like hard boiled, there was very little sauce on the dry English muffin and no avocado and onion as in the description And there was 1 crab cake. Other places I have ordered this dish the crab cake was on the muffin and the egg and sauce on top of that. At the very least if you are selling this as eggs benedict with a crab cake on the side there should be Canadian bacon under the egg. When Garrett, who should have introduced himself as "Hi I am Garret and I really don't want to be here", came to check on our meal I showed him the solid eggs and said that these are not poached. He looked at me like I had 3 heads and asked if we wanted him to take them back. Yes was the answer to that question. Our second plates came out quickly with new eggs on the same English muffins as before and with a bit more Hollandaise. This time out again over cooked eggs were cold. Not luke warm or sort of cold, like right out of the fridge cold. How does that happen? All I can think is that the eggs were cooked the night before and refridgerated. The $12.00 Bloody Mary was run of the mill mix and bar vodka not a name brand with a limp piece of celery. I did notice the persn at the table next to us at least got a lime wedge in hers. Very disappointing for the price of the meal. I reached to the Ship Inn with my review and even answered a request for review they sent to me. Very disappointed that I have heard nothing back. With the service, food and lack of communication I am sure they do not care that I will never go back. Not very good food and way overpriced.

We had to wait a bit, but it was a busy day for them. The service and food were very good! We hadn't been there in a while and the back room was bright and cheery! We had a very enjoyable meal!

We had a 5PM reservation the food did not come out until 7PM and came out not all at the same time. Food was not very warm. Very disappointing for the price and they did not offer to comp anything said the kitchen was short staffed.

Many positive improvements since Chef Irvine's visit. Wonderful renovations, excellent service, delicious menu. We had a very satisfying Mother's Day! In particular, the lobster bisque and brie appetizer (with green goddess and balsamic tomatoes) are PHENOMENAL.
