I had been to the original White Dog Cafe in Philly many years ago. I've also been to Vicker's at this location before White Dog took over. This spot is nowhere near the same as either of those two. We had lunch at White Dog (Chester Springs) about a year ago. From what I remember, it was pretty decent. Made dinner reservations this morning. We arrived on time. The hostess seemed very nice, and we were seated within a few minutes. Our waitress was very nice. My wife ordered the eggplant parm and I ordered the filet mignon ($57). It's not about the money. If it were, I wouldn't have ordered the steak. It's about getting what you pay for. The food came out fairly quickly. I cut my steak in half to check to see if it was cooked medium rare, like I requested. It was. However, the steak was a kind of chewy and very dry, which is not what I was expecting for a filet mignon at that price point. I ate it, but it wasn't enjoyable at all. The manager came to check on us a few minutes after the entrees arrived. I didn't want to get into it with him. In hindsight, I probably should have asked for a different entree. Anyway, this was not an enjoyable dining experience at all. Probably won't return.

Avoid. Overpriced, poorly prepared food that is combined with poor service. We’ve dined there three times before and the meals were great. They dropped the ball last Saturday night and we wasted time and money on poorly prepared food and bad service. After I took the time to write a review on open table, the manager thanked me for my comments, and then insulted me by sending a gift certificate for a small fraction of the cost of the meal, a meal that did not include alcohol. I’m not going back

Came here for dinner and decided to get a bunch of appetizers, everything was awesome! Chris was our server and he was so helpful when helping us decide what to choose and giving us recommendations. The atmosphere in both the outside and indoor seating is great and the menu has a very wide range of foods that I can’t wait to go back and try!

Best happy hour around! High end small bites. Some of the best and most unique chicken wings I’ve had. Excellent tuna tartar…ask for an extra side of the toast crisps; they are amazing. Great wine, beer and cocktails. Try the aged gin manhattan.
We love the atmosphere and service as well! Reservations are available, but we usually find room for two at the bar about 5/5:30pm. Enjoy!

The flounder and salmon dishes were cooked to perfection!
The lemon blueberry pound cake was out of this world.
Sitting outside on a warm summer night was amazing!

I've been to a couple White Dog locations and always enjoyed the food. This location (Chester Springs) was once one of our favorite places (Vickers Tavern) and we were very unhappy when it closed. I've now been to this location four times and every time, I've been eager to return. The gazpacho is incredible! You must try it! I take a quart home with me so I can enjoy it for days. The chicken salad croissant is also delicious as was all other menu items I've tried. Also, the rice pudding is a must for dessert. Wait staff are great as well. All around an extremely enjoyable time at White Dog! I'll be back at least one more time while that gazpacho is on the menu.

We visit our local White Dog rather frequently if for no other reason than the goat cheese whipped ricotta.

My only critique would be more of a self-serving request to refresh and expand the menu a bit to offer some additional variety.

While on the menu topic... those giant slabs of lumber that are used as menus are ridiculously cumbersome for your staff and customers.

White dog is a must visit. The service is always amazing and we always enjoy the food. I also love all the dog decorations in the restaurant. My only suggestion is to order appetizers because portions aren’t huge.Thai steak salad is super good!

Came here for a birthday dinner with a party of 6 and our newborn, we also had a reservation. We were hoping to be seated in the “happy hour section” and although seating was available, it was not accommodating for my wife and I with having our 6 week old in a stroller. When I asked if we could still participate in the happy hour from the table that was 15 feet away from the bar I was told no. Like seriously? Make it make sense. The entire point of coming was to do the HH. As we are waiting on our table we decided to get a drink at the bar and the bartender wouldn’t even serve me since I wasn’t an official participant of their happy hour, felt major attitude and snob vibes. Food was great, but after the server realized we were just doing shareable appetizers with no entrees he was not as attentive to our table. The last round of drinks took 20 minutes to come out with no explanation. Will probably spend my money elsewhere moving forward.
