Our waiter was terrific and all of the food was delicious. This was our first visit and we were very pleased. The only caveat was the noise level was very loud. It was Saturday night at 8:00 and very crowded which is great for the restaurant, but not as good for the noise level.
Good food, pretty pricey but overall very nice experience and the waiters were nice.

The beef roulette (called beef rolls at Marakand) was bland, dry, and not tender, and the Napoleon skewer had an off smell. Service overall was lacking — even after mentioning the issue with the Napoleon (each skewer $15), staff only apologized but didn’t take any action. The only exception was one male server who was respectful and attentive throughout.
We had high hopes based on the 4.7-star rating, but after spending over $500, it just didn’t feel worth it.
That said, the outdoor atmosphere was excellent, and the Loola Kabab and Tomahawk steak were outstanding — easily the best part of the meal and truly well done compared to everything else.

Dropping a star for my most recent experience- we ordered and it wasnt a busy night, yet our kebabs took so long we were nearly full with the other items we ordered when they arrived which was pretty disappointing. Our server didn't pour us water, just put pitchers on the table, and wasnt very attentive. We had to hunt him down for forks, extra sauce etc. When we ordered 5 orders of the beef roulette and several other kebabs they sent out 2 of the small individual size sauces and we had to ask for more for a party of 9. The manager we loved who would come around and greet us everytime left, and it really showed.
The food was great but I do think the sides quantity should be more for the price. The service was great until a waiter mistakenly gave my son food to someone else & we had to wait all over again but it was made up with a free dessert lol & the atmosphere is very nice except the customer kids run around the restaurant like it’s Chuckie cheese they kept bumping our chairs & know one said a word & a family brought in two small dogs. I have never seen that in a fine dining restaurant. Other than that it is a nice place & our waiter was very busy but did a great job !!!

The kebab contained too much fat and lacked seasoning. The steak was tough and smaller than expected. The French fries were overly greasy and served without any sauce, and the fruit drink had an unpleasant taste. The prices did not match the quality of the food. This is my honest review.

We’ve been here a couple of times, and it never disappoints! The food is consistently excellent, and the service matches it. The kebabs are an absolute must-try.
We came in for dinner recently and were seated right away—no wait, which was a nice surprise. The front desk staff were welcoming, and they quickly brought out a high chair for my son, which we really appreciated.
For our mains, we ordered the Plov Samarkand, Lamb & Steak Gyro, Assorted Shish Kebab Platter, and the Halloumi Kebab. Everything was outstanding, but the kebabs truly stole the show—flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The chicken, beef, and lamb kebabs were all incredible, and the halloumi added a salty, savory twist that worked beautifully. Gyro was quite delicious and filing.
The fried cauliflower made a great side—lightly crispy and full of flavor. If I had to choose, the beef and chicken kebabs would be my personal favorites. The Plov Samarkand was also a standout—the lamb was so tender, it fell apart at the touch and melted in the mouth.
We wrapped up the meal with a chocolate lava cake, which was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic dinner.
I highly recommend giving Samarkand a try—you won’t be disappointed!

My past experience was much better than my latest one. Food quality certainly degraded. My guests and I were disappointed with the food quality. The beef stroganoff was served with cold fries and was bland and horrible. The grilled trout took forever and was served after we were all done eating. it was charred from outside, but did not seem fullly cooked from inside. My guest was hesitant to eat. Traditional kebab dishes were good and the greek salad was delicious. Fiter bread was much better before, but what we got did mot seem fresh. Guests, pay attention to your bill as you may be surprised to see service charges AND surcharges added to your bill at ther discretion, on top of the tip you leave. These charges are not clearly noted on the menu or by the restaurant overall. They certainly add up.
