First time trying out food at Kapow and Terribly disappointed. I ordered Drunken Noodles as recommended by the cashier (for $14, it doesn’t come with any protein, just a little bit of veggies). All I can taste is salt, not even the spiciness or other spices. After a few bites I have to throw them away. There goes my $14. This will be my last visit. I don’t understand how they get such a high rating on Google. If you want to have a good Thai food, go to Viman Thai. I can vouch for both taste and portion.
Edit: the manager offered me to get a substitute/replacement

Kapow is the best! The Chef greets you with a smile every time! By far the best Thai we've had. It's worth the 1 hour and 15 minutes drive.

9.14 Finally visited after weeks of waiting (we live about an hour away but ate the food in the parking lot). Hubs and I visited upon watching the JL Jupiter review and were super excited.
This might be good for certain individuals and I respect that. I have never been to Thailand or Hawaii, so I have no idea how to compare this to that. I have however had a good bit of Thai food and this came up a bit short for me/ us.
Upon arrival, about 3pm, we were greeted by the folks over the counter who showed amazing smiles and were eager to assist. Kiosk is self service and that's cool for me, liked the layout. The folks let us know if we had any questions, to let them know. Food was brought up pretty quick!
We both got Kapow Klassic teas, both phenom. Here's where things went left:
Hubs eyes gets bigger than his tummy and orders more than we originally agreed. No problem there, he always does this with a new spot. So he orders the Kapow roll, Honey chicken and Pad Thai. I did not try the Kapow Roll or Pad Thai. He was not impressed. For $7, he got what was a slightly buffed up common corner store egg roll. He found it egregious that they used IMITATION CRAB - a lil misleading in my opinion but hey... the Pad Thai, he took a few bites of and put it down, rare... he did say the spice was clutch and saved the dish. On to the honey chicken. I was hella excited for this part, fell short. If I can, I will attach the pics - I took a snapshot of JL Jupiter's Honey Chicken vs what we got. As soon as Hubs opened the box I was like man WTF thats not what the the dr ordered. But ok lets give it a try to justify price point.
Different cultures hit different when it comes to sauces, understandly. It just didn't do it for me or him personally. Additionally the chicken tasted a bit stale or like it was frozen chicken? I eat enough to know the difference between fresh battered and not. So yeah, that's a no-no. If the chicken was made fresh to order, I think that would have changed my perspective a bit.
I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken,
which is a $2 upcharge. I had difficulty finding my chicken pieces. This dish is salty/ oily ASF, but I liked it, can't lie lol. I would have added maybe a lime wedge to help help cut the salt but I still got thru a good bit of it. Will give the rest to the kids. Nice spice level. Heartburn ate my @ss up later but kinda worth it! Up drinking fennel tea at 3am ?
All in all, I would not return here personally for food, but I would make this a staple to grab tea. I do wish them much success. I think it's worth at least 1 run thru. This is probably the most unique place in Booths Corner and its nice to see some diversity after all these years. Service and a smile is gone win everytime, even if the food is lackluster.
P. S. - don't come for me. Opinions are like @ssholes, everybody got one... this was my honest review of my dining experience. Ion wanna hear about how I coulda came back in or none of that; first impressions are everything. I've seen some of the owners responses... I said what I said ✌?
Update 9/16: Owner responded back that JL ordered the Huli Huli w/ Honey Chicken. Noted - thank you :)

Got food from their food truck and it was disappointing. I got the general kapow chicken lo mein bowl. The chicken tasted good. They were like chicken nuggets tossed in a sauce. The lo mein was the most disappointing part, it was plain boiled noodles with a layer of the general tso sauce placed on top. I wouldn't call this lo mein.
