My friends and I were excited to finally try this place. I ordered 3 Thursday Specials (only 2 pictured) via Uber Eats. The reason for 2 stars is because some of the sides were inedible. The mac was charred, the mashed potatoes tasted sour and over seasoned, and the greens were bitter & salty. The baked beans and rice were decent. We ordered BBQ chicken, fried chicken and salmon. The BBQ and fried chicken were both really good. Salmon was ok. If I ever order from here again, I would only stick to the meats and avoid the sides.

Got an Uber Eats coupon alert and tried it out. Amazing. Fish was perfectly seasoned. As were the fries. Tender, flaky white fish. The boneless, fried chicken bites were covered in “country curry” sauce were equally banging, really good portions too. Super sweet, mashed yams, savory smooth Mac and cheese, fragrant, crumbly cornbread…. So delicious I had to stand up and dance while I ate it. I can’t wait to try the deserts. Wide-Boy APPROVED.

Please do not wast your money this was crazy disappointing. The fish and chicken must of been the thing to give them their confidence to open a restaurant because the Mac and cheese was scorched burnt like from the bottom and what in the heck are they putting in the yams. Bites of sugar and to much nutmeg! The biggest problem is I told the girl I have never had the food before and I spent 100.16. I don’t know who is looking to be in the restaurant business but if someone tell you that make sure you go out your way to make it your best so they return and reframe from these kinds of reviews and you made us wait outside in the cold for our food. Let this go for real! Oh and do not eat the cheesecake!

Terrible food and service. The quality just isn't there. You wait for a very long time after ordering to get food that is pre-made from what looks line a catering style setup. Why the long wait? Good was greasy and unappetizing.

I hate to do this to a B.O.B. but I have to be fair and honest. I expected more from this establishment and overlooked the reviews. But after eating here I am able to draw my own conclusions. The food isn’t desirable. I’m not sure what their rendition of macaroni and cheese is, but, it was hardly edible. As far as the yams and turkey chops, they lacked flavor. I also was missing the rice that was said to come with my order.

Not sure who "Shugar" is, but this food definitely looks and tastes like it was made in a Shack. Listen people, Soul Food is to be made with Soul, not haste. Ingredients wise, it was decent, but using genetically over-sized fat/grizzly turkeychops is nobody's true wish. Rice is the easiest thing to make, yet it was paste and you could not find the gravy. The kicker, which prompted my review, was that the cabbage had a sour taste, and I had to drop the Browns off at the Superbowl this mornin..Btw, the Strawberry mush they gave us to replace the Banana pudding (they ran out of) should also just be taken off the menu.I'd never encourage anyone to exchange any currency (U.S. or otherwise) for food from this establishment.P.S. Yams+too much nutmeg=Bad taste.Parking: On the street parking.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Not only is the food amazing but the staff is super friendly as well. My favorite items are the Turkey chops, The fish, and the sweet potatoes, rice and gravy and greens. You definitely want to get there soon, you can thank me later❤️. Don't forget to get the cornbread.
I think this might be my last time ordering sides from Shugar Shack. The food just isn’t consistent. My greens tasted way too vinegary and I don’t quite understand the cheese that was used in the Mac & Cheese. It appears to be a Velveeta-type cheese. It’s never ever a good idea to cut corners on Mac & cheese. And why aren’t you using macaroni noodles? My last order had a different type of noodle from this order. I am terribly disappointed. Consistency is the life blood of food service. The fish was okay tho…

I waited for someone to come open the door for 6 minutes while making extended eye contact with two employees. The customer service was terrible, the boy who brought me my food was rude. I brought two people there to try the food as well but due to his extreme rudeness, lack of ability to communicate, and poor presentation of food and the business we decided it wasbest to leave to avoid being further subjected to extended poor service. The food was poorly put together, nasty, and cold. I wanted to use this place for catering, but I’m glad I didn’t. I’m done eating from here and now actively encourage my other black friends to do the same in order to find a soul food place with better service and food quality.

I disregarded the not so appealing reviews because I had a crave for fish. Next time, I will fry my own or go without. My fish platter was huge, I mean enough for two people. Unfortunately, the fish was so rubbery we could not eat it. The mac and cheese was old or simply not cooked right but the greens seemed ok. If I can't give a place at least three stars, I will not be back.

first time there, had a piece of hair in my fish, literally underneath the fish coating. I was very displeased bc the fish was actually good, my sides were cabbage and Mac. also a side of potato salad( hard boiled potatoes )
