My wife and I have had the pleasure to dine at The Highland several times since their opening and are never dissapointed. The food and service were consistently excellent each time. Their prices are very competitive with any other eatery of its caliber. They earned their stars with me just by their extensive scotch and bourbon collections with many rarities not seen outside of Kentucky. They have an outstanding draft beer variety to select from and their beer tastes like the keg was just tapped. Always crisp and clean.Their menu is well thought and there is something for every ones palate- vegan, gluten free selections and pub fare. They have a delectable burger that is perfectly seasoned and served on a high quality fresh artisan bun with fries.A few of our other favorites are their Pigs in a Blanket which are wrapped in a homemade everything light and crunchy bread, crisp Truffle Fries, the Airline Chicken - moist in every bite, Caesar Salad with house made dressing and even house made croutons. My wife loves their Tuna Poke Bowl and Lobster Roll.We have really enjoyed their brunch menu and pair breakfast with house made Bloody Marys (you won't find bottled mix here!) served with a jumbo shrimp and a slice of slab bacon (now that's what I am talking about!). My go to is their omelettes or Chicken and Waffle Benedict with the (don't miss) Shortrib Hash Browns served with a fried egg, peppers and onions. The wifee enjoys their Spinach and Tomato Benedict with a glass of Chardonay. These folks really care about their establishment. They performed well thought renovations. Large flat screens to watch the games. The Highland's outdoor space is amazing for dinning on warm summer like nights or Sunday mornings. The restaurant is spotless and their staff is well trained and customer friendly. We welcome the Highland and are very pleased that another chain restaurant did not take over the space. Great job and a neighborhood gem!

Me and my wife went to Highland Restaurant today and had an awesome experience!!! The food was great, the staff was friendly and the vibe was super right!!! Fish tacos, Buffalo wings, sweet potato fries and wedge salad did what they were suppose to do!!! We used to go there when it was Bernier. They upped the antenna! WE'LL BE BACK VERY SOON!!

It is not too often that I can give a 5 out of 5 for exceptional service, atmosphere, and food but this is one of those occasions. Visited this local gem on Mother's Day and we all left happy and fulfilled!!! Wendy was awesome.

My husband and I went here right after the happy hour crowd. We found seats at the bar. The guy who helps the bartender was very nice and made sure he greeted us right away. However we did discover the female bartender was short and bourder line rude with us. We noticed with the crowd at of people sitting near us she seemed to had a better attitude was more pleasant and attentative. She never asked us if we wanted food. Took our drink order with hardly no greeting. Never came back to see if our drinks were good. I've been here before and had a wonderful experience. With this visit I don't feel welcomed back.

I have given The Highland several chances to support a local businesses and I have not had one good experience. There is a constant over turn of staff, the food is inconsistent and the drinks are overly priced. A $100 for brunch and two drinks each is excessive for the quality of their food. It is a simple menu but one that is hard to get right. Management constantly ask you how everything is and the one time I spoke up I could feel the whole staff whispering about me. Like I was in the wrong for complaining about a raw omelette and burnt toast? I tried their burger thinking how hard is a burger to mess up? It tasted like it had been microwaved from the night before. The bun was soggy as well just not good at all. At 12:00 on a Sunday there was hardly any people in there and it’s obvious to the reason why. The service people are great, I have never had a problem with their rotating bartenders or wait staff. This is the one thing The Highland does right it’s to bad they can not carry this thru with the “chef” or management. You are missing a good opportunity with a great location. I know you own other businesses which I have frequented. Maybe you should go back to the original business plan where you became successful in your restaurant endeavors where the food is not over cooked or under cooked.

Unfortunately I don't plan on returning, and I really wanted to like this neighborhood watering hole ! However there was No love, or flavor, or flavors of love to be found in the taste of this food ! I ordered crispy Brussels (which were actually burnt Brussels) and the corn succotash ( which resembled a heated bag of the green giant frozen food). We also ordered the burger which was “Meh” but oh the fries were good !

For starters we checked the menu out online and when we arrived they had a new menu and never updated online. So everything we thought we wanted to try was not even on the menu. Secondly the food was extremely underwhelming for the prices. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they came with one shrimp cut in half, my aunt ordered a mixed salad and all that was in it was lettuce she had to send it back for cucumbers and other items, the buffalo wings were not spicy at all no buffalo at all. The only thing that was good was the grilled chicken sandwich. We spent $150 on our food and it was not worth it at all. I asked to speak to a manager and they said the only thing they could do was to take $10 off our bill. They didn’t seem to care at all that we did not enjoy our experience at their restaurant. I will not be coming back at all and I encourages others not to waste your money or time.

Great service, we were seated upon arrival. The place has an industrial chick vibe. The menu was small but had plenty of options. The food was fine, but not exceptional. Did my experience suggest a second trip, no it didn't. I am always happy to support local business but this place will not be high on my rotation
