Decided to stop here for lunch while visiting family in PA. It is a wonderful little spot just off of I-83. Our server Michelle was very friendly and a great help. I had the Shrimp Alfredo which was delicious and a great portion of noodles, although i would have liked a few more shrimp. My brother had a bacon cheeseburger and fries which of course is a staple menu item but it and the side of fries were great as well. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie and it was outstanding. I would definitely go back just to try more of their desserts. They had a convenient ATM in the entrance area as well as a lottery machine if you enjoy that sort of thing. The restraunt as well as the bar are spacious and have more than adequate seating for the amount of business they get. Big parties are welcome! There is an 18% gratuity for groups over 10 as mentioned on the menu.If you live in the northern York area or go past exit 35 of 83 often, I would definitely reccomend checking this place out!Parking: Lot is directly off the highway, exclusive for the diner, ~20 spots or moreKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, diverse menu and has a good kids section, booth seating although I dont know if they have booster seats for toddlers.

My honey and I ate here for the first time on February 17. I can’t say enough good things!!! The food was fabulous - from the cream of crab soup, the crab cake, the filet - everything was outstanding. It was - hands down - the best crab cake I’ve ever had in my life! Our server, Darlene, was also absolutely phenomenal. She was so very kind and attentive - and thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu and all of the restaurant’s offerings. She was sure to make sure we knew all of our options, and pointed out all aspects to make our meal completely satisfying. We enjoyed our experience very much, and would recommend the Hillside Cafe to anyone looking for a fabulous meal!

Arrived on 2/10/24 at 6:15pm. The parking lot was not crowded (first red flag). We were promptly seated, where we proceeded to sit for over 15 minutes with no waiter or waitress taking our order or checking in on us. The hostess n staff seemed more engaged with talking in the back corner. We walked out and went to 83 dinner. Sad this used to be such a good place to eat years ago.

In all my years I’ve never been so disrespected by an owner of a restaurant. Not only did we sit for well over an hour for our steaks watching three tables around us get food we then had the pleasure of meeting the “owner” who served chewy nasty break, crumby salads and bad attitude telling us “it is what it is” the hostess ghosts should be thankful I didn’t call the cops on her when she put her hands on me. I’ll be filing a complaint on the morning. Good luck in your ahitry service

5 of us had decided to meet up here on a Saturday for dinner. Our server was Darla. She's a gem for sure! She rattled off the daily specials like there was going to be a test. She was very speedy and had the personality to boot! She was able to answer every question we had about the menu, and her suggestions were spot on. The kitchen staff must be amazing as well as our food was exactly as we ordered and was very tasty. We all had drinks from the bar to start, which has a great list. Appetizers followed. We had a crab pretzel (all in-house made), mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, crab stuffed mushrooms, chili, a crock of French onion soup and bacon cheese fries. All were yummy and hot. Another round of drinks, sorry, I can't remember what all everyone had as we kept changing up. A basket of warm dinner rolls and butter were delivered right before our main entrees were served. I had their house special with a crab cake and filet and 2 sides. The crab cake had no fillers (except the needed and flavor). My steak was ordered medium rare and came out just as so. Someone got the stuffed flounder and said it was delicious. One couple got the dinner for 2 and ended up with a doggie bag as they were stuffed! They said it was delicious. The last person got the crab cake with a porterhouse and claimed it was outta this world! Another round of drinks and onto dessert. We chose cheese cake with caramel drizzle and bacon, peanut butter pie, triple chocolate cake, carrot cake, and sadly, I can't remember what the last selection was. Everyone was satisfied and stuffed, but not too stuffed for a hot adult beverage. We will all definitely be back, together, or separate.Kid-friendliness: There were kids there while we were, and all was good. Definitely could feel comfortable taking a family there for a meal.

The wife and I had dinner and we both ordered cheeseburgers. Nothing special. Both meals came out under cooked and with the wrong cheese on. She sent hers back I did not. I ate about half of the sandwich. It wasn't very good. When hers came back out, she literally was drinking with every bite to swallow the burger and could only eat about a third of the burger. The service was average.

Crab cakes are out of this world. The soups are just amazing. Under cooked peas gave it 4 stars. I wasn't a fan of the Cole slaw but that is just a matter of preference, other people in my group enjoyed it. The service is attentive and very friendly. Id definitely be
