I LOVE these people AND this place! It was my mom's favorite back when she still lived around here 15 years ago back when I was in highschool we would stop in their old location down the street. Now, I'll drag my partner out just to get coffee from this place and we come from Needmore! But, I'm just sentimental like that too. I appreciate those who invest real time and appreciation into their craft- the boards describing each flavor alone shows this and their sense of variety. And let's not forget the Tea! Magical Garden is my absolute FAVORITE- YUM! TRY IT OUT! Support local. I can't remember the last time I've seen their prices go up, for better or worse, I suppose. Some places you can pay more, some places you may find for less. But I find GREEN CASTLE ROASTERS IS WORTH IT for ME!Love you guys ?

Love the many different coffee choices. They can grind the kinds for you or buy the beans whole. They offer small packets to try different blends and also sell individual k-cups of some flavors.

There are so many different types of coffee beans here that are all freshly roasted. I don't believe I've seen so many! The moment you walk in you are welcomed by the beautiful scent of coffee. It'll make you want a fresh cup of joe.As I mentioned, they carry all types of coffee beans as well as all types of tea. As well as syrups and rum.Overall, this place is amazing. Even the staff is friendly! I definitely recommend getting your coffee here. :)

I have gotten the sampler packets for friends to try different blends and coffees. They have enjoyed them and found some they really like. I've only bought coffee here -- haven't found anything else in the store that interested me (didn't meet my quality, price, selection sweet spot). I agree with another reviewer about the attitude -- they don't seem to like people looking around and do start following you around. I may pay more attention to the service when I go in the next time to see how it compares to years past. I was not aware that the owner changed, if that is the case. In the past, the owner really knew her coffees and was very helpful in selecting new sample packs to try.

My dad and I love coming to get flavored coffee. He lives almost 4 hours away, but every time he comes to town, we go to Greencastle to get coffee. The ladies that work there are always so friendly. We love trying all the different flavors.

I have enjoyed the wide variety of coffees from Greencastle Coffee Roasters for years. I know of no one within four hours' drive with such a selection.

Got whole bean coffee, freshly roasted. Lots of choices for your coffee needs. They also have some Asian stuff inside the store.

Great selection. Very helpful and experienced owners. They offer bean or ground. They also offer fresh roasted peanuts.

Love their coffee! Have been having it shipped to North Carolina and finally got to visit!

So many coffee and tea selections, and they're all very good. The k-cup selection and sample packs are also great for trying things.

Best coffee that I've ever had. Friendly service, if you could smell how wonderful this establishment was, you'd struggle to leave.

So first, many of these reviews are from before they sold the business to new owners and moved locations. So this review is a long time coming. The old place used to be great. Huge variety of coffee, tea and even fresh roasted peanuts and asian goods. The new place keeps a similarly large variety of coffee and tea, and still sells fresh roasted peanuts. Much the same as the old place. So why the low review? 2 reasons: 1) the owners have a crap attitude and 2) almost everything in that place that has an expiration date is expired. As such, how can I trust the things that don't have an exp date? From the moment you walk in the store the owners make you feel very unwelcome. Their attitude is barely "neutral", and that's how they greet you. If you dare ask them questions their attitude shifts to something like an "annoyed teenager" (these people are at least in their 60s by the way). Ask too many questions, or take too long, then they start watching you like a hawk. (see more on this below) Take a walk down the asian foods/goods aisles and check the dates. Months, sometimes a year+ past expiration. When I mentioned that many things were expired, I was met with hostility. Not concern that they are selling old goods, but anger at being notified of it. The woman then followed me around the store, pretending to be cleaning. I don't know if she thought I was going to steal something or what. I'm a vanilla-ass, middle-aged white man and she's acting like the store owner from Boyz in the Hood. I kept expecting her to say she felt sorry for my mother. The coffee also has it's own issues. Again, no dates so how can you tell when something has expired? I 100% believe they would keep coffee on the shelf until it sold, even if it took years. As someone else mentioned, the flavors are off with the in-house roasting as well. Either they are not cleaning the machine often enough, they're selling old coffee, or they are not adjusting the temps for each type of bean (probably all three).

I love this place! From the moment you open the door, the aroma is captivating! I never really noticed a major difference in my coffee before. For decades I had taken my coffee with 2 tbs creamer and 2 Equal packets per 10 oz. I have been drinking my coffee black for 7 months. The skies have opened and now I can see why Greencastle Coffee Roasters have a hand written dictionary of beautifully descriptive coffee types lining their counter. It may be a little daunting, but the owners and the people assisting are all well versed in their products. If you don't want to commit to a large quantity, you can always locate a variety from the 5 cup packets lining the walls to trial before a major commitment. There is also a nice selection of tea and some Asian pantry staples in the back. And don't forget the light and dark roasted peanuts in the front. It's a weird Saturday ritual for me to pick some up and have on hand, but they are also so good.
